World of WarcraftPlunderstorm has been a massive hit with players since its release. The limited-time mode offers new rewards and gameplay unlike anything in World of Warcraft, but all good things must end.
With Plunderstorm being a limited-time mode, it’s got to end sometime, and Blizzard has announced when the mode will be leaving shore, along with some good news for those wanting to earn all the rewards the mode offers. To help players get the most rewards they can before the mode disappears, this guide has some tips on how to get renown fast in Plunderstorm.
WoW’s Plunderstorm Shouldn’t Have to Meet Its Maker
World of Warcraft’s exciting new Plunderstorm mode seems to have an end date, but this unique battle royale should not have to face the reaper.
What is the WoW: Plunderstorm End Date?
World of Warcraft‘s battle royale mode, Plunderstorm, will end on April 30. Blizzard announced the limited-time mode’s end in a recent blog post, along with some welcome news for players who still have some rewards to earn from the event.
Following the April 16 weekly reset and maintenance, the mode will have a Plundersurge, lasting until the event is finished. During the Plundersurge, all renown earned will be doubled from all sources of Plunder, meaning whether players win, lose, farm Plunder, or complete the daily quest, players earn twice as much renown, making it much easier to earn the event rewards before it goes away.
Tips for Farming Renown in Plunderstorm
To earn the event rewards, players will need renown, or Plunder in this case, which is earned by killing NPCs, players, completing the daily quest, and other activites in matches. Each rank of renown requires 2500 Plunder, and depending on how long a match goes, it can take a little time to earn enough to get more ranks and unlock the event rewards.
Thankfully, there are a few ways to earn renown quickly and get those rewards in speedy fashion, made all the better thanks to the Plundersurge. Here are those helpful tips to make the last few weeks of Plunderstorm a worthwhile endeavour.
Complete the Daily Quest
The daily quest in Plunderstorm will give a large chunk of plunder and progress towards players renown, making it the most efficent way to get plunder during a match. Objectives tend to be simple, such as killing elite enmies, looting a number of chests, or picking up spells.
Completing this quest will net players 250 Plunder, along with the daily doubloons bonus for completing a daily quest, which is an extra 800, that’s over 1000 off the bat. Add the double renown from Plundersurge, and that’s nearly a whole rank from potentially one match. Get that quest done, and either die or try to go for the win. In the long run, dying might be the better option to get into another match with a new quest, and keep repeating this cycle.
Hug the Storm
While it’s natural to want to fight other players, this isn’t always the most effective use of time during a match, and might not even net much plunder. Instead, it’s recommended that players ignore PvP and hug the storm, as players tend to avoid it at all cost, which can be of great benefit.
With fewer players around, it’s easier to find chests and other items that can reward plunder, and scavenging around the outside of the playable area often yields results while also being quieter, meaning players can farm with little interruption in most cases.
World of Warcraft Shares Incredible Stats for Plunderstorm
Just under a month after its release, World of Warcraft reveals some hilarious and staggering statistics for the Plunderstorm battle royale mode.
Kill NPC and Elites, Save Players till Last
Killing the NPCs and elite enemies is easily the best way to get plunder, especially elite enemies who often drop a significant amount of Plunder when defeated. With that said, it makes landing in areas with NPCs more favorable, while keeping in mind other players might follow suit, so best keep an eye out during the descent at the start of a match.
Try landing on an elite enemy during drop in to instantly kill them, netting some plunder and a spell in the process. This will be a good starting point in a match. From there, move from place to place, look for the stronger, elite NPCs, and take them out for the plunder. As for players, they are best saved till the end of a match, as they will have a lot of Plunder to drop if they are killed, making it far more worthwhile to fight other players later in a match rather than sooner.
Play in Duo’s or Trio’s
While playing with others, players earn the Plunder their teammates pick up, meaning it’s naturally more fruitful to play with others and get more plunder during a match. Of course, there is the risk that players will have different ideas in mind of how to play or where to go, but usually this will be the more lucrative option. However, if playing solo is working better and yielding better returns, stick to that to save the stress and hassle or working with others.
World of Warcraft: Marks of Honor Vendor Locations
Find all the Marks of Honor vendors with ease in World of Warcraft and get the armor and weapons you want to look your best.
Even with Plunderstorm setting sail soon, the future for World of Warcraft is looking relatively bright.
