WWE 2K26 Details New Island Mode Factions

WWE 2K26 Details New Island Mode Factions

WWE 2K26 has revealed more details on The Island game mode, including its faction leaders, new match types and experiences, and expanded array of customization options. WWE 2K26 is only the second game in the series to feature The Island, and it looks to have expanded a great deal since its first iteration.

The Island was first introduced in WWE 2K25, bringing wrestling fans a new competitive online story mode that saw them taking to The Island of Relevancy to form alliances and rivalries with WWE Superstars and participate in a wide variety of challenges, all to earn the approval of Roman Reigns and unseat him as the Head of the Table. There were plenty of things to do in the WWE 2K25 version of The Island, from customizing created wrestlers with unique gear, movesets, and stat builds to climbing through multiple tier ranks and competing with players around the world for the highest scores. The Island may not have caught on with players as well as classic modes like Universe and MyGM, but the development team at Visual Concepts seems eager to keep building on it and refining its features.

WWE 2K26 Leak Reveals Release Date and Platforms for Launch

A leak might reveal the potential release date for WWE 2K26 alongside the platforms the game is expected to support at launch.

  • Cody Rhodes (Order of Tradition)
  • CM Punk (Order of Anarchy)
  • Rhea Ripley (Order of Shadows)

A leak from January revealed that WWE 2K26‘s The Island mode would focus on three factions, named the Order of Anarchy, Order of Shadows, and Order of Tradition, all of which are trying to mount a takeover after the fall of Reigns. Now, a new Ringside Report by 2K has revealed the leaders of those three factions, with Rhea Ripley, CM Punk, and Cody Rhodes each heading up one of them. Each faction will feature a stable of like-minded wrestlers, with Rhodes’ Order of Tradition seeking to preserve the history and heritage of the squared circle, Punk’s Order of Anarchy looking to redefine the business with superior mic skills and little respect for rules, and Ripley’s Order of Shadows serving as a home for the darker and weirder side of pro wrestling.

Each faction will have its own base of operations on The Island of Relevancy, but in addition to fighting for control of the entire island, they’ll also be competing over a new playable area called The Scrapyard. Located at the center of the island, and occupying the demolished space where the final battle with Reigns took place, the area is now an urban ruin, filled with lots of junk and vertical spaces that sound like a dream for fans of WWE’s high flyer roster. There’s also a strong indication that a hidden power may be buried in The Scrapyard, which will likely make the fights that players engage in even more important to the story.

WWE 2K26 Expands The Island’s New Gameplay and Progression Features

The story and layout of The Island won’t be the only things changing, as Towers have been introduced to the game mode, allowing for a greater PvE experience. Players will be able to choose between three different lengths for Tower runs, filled with randomly selected matches, bosses, and rewards, and completing towers will earn them a special currency called Order Reputation, which can be used to unlock an even bigger rewards table. Along with Towers, players can anticipate the expansion of match types in WWE 2K26 to bleed into The Island, with multiplayer updates adding Triple Threat, Fatal 4-Way, and 2v2 PvP to the list. Players will also be able to form permanent multiplayer tag teams through the new MyTAG feature on The Island, and there will be more seasonal rewards as well, including special championship belts given to the top 10 players in each season.

Additionally, the prestige system of The Island has been reworked into four tiers, with players ascending between Recruit, Distributor, Blueprint, and Legendary as they build their overall stats, and a unique Prestige Quest must be completed for players to climb through each of the ranks. There will also be plenty more creation options in WWE 2K26, and the custom wrestlers on The Island won’t be left out, getting to take advantage of the game’s upgraded Photo Face option and adding even more unlockable gear and the addition of earnable World Taunts.
