WWE 2K26‘s Universe Mode and Community Creations Suite are seeing big upgrades over last year’s installment in the wrestling game franchise. Universe mode is the series’ default sandbox game mode, and Visual Concepts and 2K are doing a lot to make the experience in WWE 2K26 more true-to-life than ever before.
Although it’s not set for launch until March 13, with early access beginning on March 6, there have already been plenty of special features for WWE 2K26 confirmed so far. These include updates to various game modes, such as a CM Punk showcase, a new faction-based storyline in The Island, and an expanded 50-week season in MyGM, but the development team still has some tricks up its sleeve for the Universe mode.

WWE 2K26 confirms a ton of information, including upgrades to popular game modes, roster additions, interactive entrances, and prices.
WWE 2K26 Makes Big Improvements to Universe Mode
One of the biggest changes coming to Universe is the addition of the WWE Draft, which players can choose to incorporate into their game whenever they want. Previously only featured in the WWE 2K series’ MyGM Mode, players can set up a draft on their Universe mode calendar to allow two featured shows to swap wrestlers back and forth between opposing brands, keeping the action fresh as the rosters rotate among the shows the player has chosen to include. Drafts will have adjustable settings, including letting players organize up to eight different draft rounds, and selections will play out over the selected shows’ match cards, providing a mix of wrestling matches and draft rounds on those shows.

Big changes are also coming to the promo system that was added to Universe mode in WWE 2K25. A new promo is being added in the form of the Post-Match Interview, allowing the winner of a specific match on the card to make a big announcement that could potentially shake up the roster. The winning wrestler being interviewed may choose to influence future cards by discussing a #1 contender’s match or title change, or even announce that they’re changing the division they’ll be competing in. There are options for the loser as well, allowing them to interrupt the interview to offer a handshake, launch a surprise attack, or engage in a stare-down, potentially increasing an ongoing rivalry. This promo type will joining the returning self-promos, callout promos, and open challenges, the last of which has been updated to include impromptu title defenses.
Another big improvement planned involves Money in the Bank cash-ins. There will no m longer be specific targeted championships tied to the briefcases, meaning the winners can challenge for any title at any time, and with the number of possible titles on each show increased to eight, there will be a lot of options. The system for cashing in has also been made a lot simpler, with just a single button press required to initiate a cash-in. Additionally, initiating a cash-in provides players with different options, allowing the player to choose between challenging for the title after a match has just ended or even while it’s still ongoing. Along with those changes, for anyone who’d rather watch their custom card play out than actually playing through it themselves, WWE 2K26‘s Universe Mode will let them do just that, with minimal interruptions.
WWE 2K26 Reveals New Creations Features
The newly revealed improvements don’t stop at Universe, as there are also a bunch of special features coming to Creation mode. One specific feature fans have been begging to receive for a long time is coming, as improvements to entrances for WWEs factions and stables is on the way. This new feature will allow players to create custom entrances and victories for groups of up to five Superstars at a time, and it looks pretty in-depth, allowing players to set up advanced timeline editing, making adjustments to features that include special lighting. There will be a lot more room player creations as well, as the number of Custom Wrestler slots has been doubled to 200, and the Custom Image slots have been increased to 2,000. Additionally, a lot of new cosmetic customization options have been added, along with a refined face morphing system and more options for customizing two-toned hair.
