The Tokyo Game Show kicked off this week, and Xbox dropped a new broadcast showcasing what its Japanese partners are up to. The Japanese market has been a tough nut to crack for Microsoft–especially with Sony and Nintendo enjoying a home-field advantage–but Xbox has had a presence there for the last 20 years.
Hosted by Misuzu Araki, this year’s Xbox TGS broadcast offered exclusive content and new gameplay. It also took place at a very early hour for anyone residing across the pond, and we’re betting that you might have been sleeping when it was on. Fear not! As usual, we’ve grabbed all the announcements, and you can read through everything below.
This was a compact livestream, mostly focused on smaller games being developed by Japanese and Asian studios, but there were a few pleasant surprises. We got a campaign trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Crazy Taxi continues to look wild, and Hideo Kojima even popped in to reveal the actors joining him to play characters in his new action-espionage game, Physint.
Here’s a breakdown of everything that was shown off:
Gachiakuta: Breakout
The show is kicking off with a new look at the Gachiakuta: Breakout game. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a pretty cool anime series about the value of trash–no really–and the manga source material is even better thanks to its cool illustrations. It looks like this will be a faithful adaptation, with plenty of action to enjoy.
Crazy Taxi
A new Crazy Taxi trailer? Yeah yeah yeah yeah! This fresh gameplay video shows off the new Japanese map you can explore with reckless abandon.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
The next Call of Duty game is out next month, and once again it looks like we’re in for conspiracies, action, and covert operatives spouting military jargon. Call of Duty campaigns are usually good for a weekend of popcorn action fun, and Modern Warfare 4 looks like it’ll be a blast as this trailer dives deeper into John Price’s shadow operations.
The Xbox TGS cat finally has a name
And it really needs to become the brand’s mascot! The black Xbox cat appearing in Tokyo Game Show branding is now Midori, as voted for by fans.
Persona 4 Revival
The next Persona remake, Persona 4 Revival, is out in February 2027, and it continues to look like a slick entry in the fan-favorite franchise.
Shape of Dreams: The Starless Path
The action co-op roguelite Shape of Dreams is now on console, and if you have an Xbox Game Pass subscription, you can also access it as a day-one release.
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember
Need some more Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember in your life? This new trailer showcased a ton of combat, a grueling boss battle, and a reminder that the game launches for PC and console in March 2027.
Hope in the City
A game where you play through the eyes of an artist, Hope in the City is a narrative mystery game where you have to track down two missing parents. It launches for PC and console on November 10, and it’ll also be available through Xbox Game Pass.
Bloomwalker
A heartfelt crafting adventure set in the fallen world of Luminoa, Bloomwalker will see players travel with a moving house, cleanse the pollution spreading across the land, and free Guardians to help save the day. It has Studio Ghibli vibes to its art direction, which is an automatic win.
Faraday Blues
Vivarium publisher Serenity Forge showed off a new game called Faraday Blues. A visual-novel adventure, it features striking art and a sci-fi story about searching for parents who don’t even know that the protagonist exists.
Edge of Memories
Out on November 5, Edge of Memories is billed as a solo JRPG. It looks like an anime in action, with stylish combat for you to master.

Fallout 76: The Slasher
The spooky season is almost here, and Fallout 76 is kicking things off with The Slasher. Available now–and for free–to all Fallout 76 players, this update will see you follow a trail of clues behind a series of gruesome crimes committed by a knife-wielding culprit.
Once Human: The Abyss
Once Human is launching its biggest update soon. Ocean Expansion: Isles of Abyss arrives October 22.
Raji: Kaliyuga
Developer Nodding Heads Games provided commentary on Raji: Kaliyuga, its third-person action-adventure. Set in a world where a war between gods threatens all realms, the siblings Raji and Darsh set off on a quest to save–or destroy–the universe.
Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories
And back to the JRPG side of the Xbox TGS livestream! Here’s a new character trailer for Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories, featuring the return of Rutger and Lenja from Atelier Yumia.
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement
Bloodstained is coming back in 2027, and this new trailer showed off some of the gameplay you’ll be in for when the Castlevania-inspired action game arrives.
Physint
Hideo Kojima’s return to the world of tactical espionage action includes a few famous faces along for the ride. Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård will portray the lead role in Physint, and the game’s cast also includes Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe.
