Barbie Horse Trails is now available across three Xbox Game Pass tiers. This is the first title to join the service in April 2026 and the 53rd Xbox Game Pass addition since the beginning of the year.
Originally launched in October 2025, Barbie Horse Trails is the latest release from Philadelphia-based developer PHL Collective. It’s an open-world adventure that features a rich character creator and offers similarly extensive horse customization options. This makes it the only modern Barbie game with an open world. Barbie Horse Trails is a single-player-only experience wherein the player takes on the role of a new junior ranger in Canterbury Trails Park. Most of the gameplay centers on exploring colorful landscapes, photographing wildlife, and customizing the player’s character and horse.
Xbox Game Pass March 2026 Lineup Ends Today with 2 ‘Very Positive’ Games Leaving
Xbox Game Pass is losing two titles with “Very Positive” player reviews later today, but it’s still ending March 2026 on a high note.
Xbox Game Pass Adds Its Second Barbie Game in 10 Months
Barbie Horse Trails is officially available on Xbox Game Pass as of today, April 2. The open-world adventure can be accessed via every tier of the service except for the entry-level Essential membership. It marks the second Barbie game added to Xbox Game Pass in less than a year, arriving after Barbie Project Friendship joined in June 2025.
Barbie Project Friendship ended up leaving Xbox Game Pass after only five months. Given that it shares publisher Outright Games with Barbie Horse Trails, today’s release may also have a relatively short stay on the service. Completing it should not take long, however, with crowdsourced data suggesting Barbie Horse Trails can be finished in under six hours.
Xbox Game Pass Premium Gets One of the Best Games of 2025
Today’s catalog update also includes the award-winning Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which is now formally available on Xbox Game Pass Premium. The critically acclaimed “Je’RPG” is approaching its first anniversary on April 24, which had fueled some speculation that it could leave Microsoft’s subscription service around that time. Instead, its arrival on Premium dispels those concerns and further underlines Microsoft’s broader Game Pass strategy of eventually extending day-one releases to the middle tier, with Ultimate’s only real exclusives mostly being tied to partner services like EA Play and Ubisoft+.

The next date that Xbox Game Pass subscribers want to mark on their calendars is April 7, which is when Final Fantasy 4 joins the service. Apart from this remaster of Square Enix’s classic JRPG, the Wave 1 Xbox Game Pass lineup for April 2026 is also expected to be officially detailed on the same day. Be that as it may, this month’s roster already has multiple confirmed releases, including Replaced, Hades 2, Vampire Crawlers (a new spin-off from the Vampire Survivors developer), Kiln, and Aphelion—in that order.
