Persona 5 Royal is now available on Xbox Game Pass. The critically acclaimed RPG is the sixth title to reach the service in June 2026 and the 98th Xbox Game Pass release since the beginning of the year.
Originally released in 2016, Persona 5 is one of the highest-rated RPGs of all time, based on both professional reviews and user scores. Its enhanced edition, Persona 5 Royal, matched that historic critical reception after its 2019 debut, earning a 94 average score and a 99% recommendation rate on OpenCritic. Persona 5 Royal Returns to Xbox Game Pass After a 3-Year Hiatus
The iconic RPG has officially returned to Microsoft’s subscription service on June 9. This marks the start of its second stint on the platform, after Persona 5 Royal was originally offered to Xbox Game Pass members for a two year-period ending in October 2023. The June 9 arrival is available across every subscription tier except XGP Essential.
Even More Persona Games Are Coming to Xbox Game Pass
Persona 5 Royal makes for a particularly compelling catalog addition considering Xbox Game Pass has just lost several other acclaimed Atlus RPGs on May 31, when Persona 4 Golden and Metaphor: ReFantazio left the service. The new arrival should still be playable by the time Persona 4 Revival launches day one on Xbox Game Pass on February 18, 2027. Its release date was announced during the latest Xbox Games Showcase, which also featured a Persona 6 teaser confirming the upcoming title as another day-one addition to Microsoft’s subscription service.

Xbox Game Pass has a busy stretch ahead, with 17 upcoming titles currently carrying confirmed release dates. Three games, Frog Sqwad, Beastro, and Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions, are scheduled to join the service on June 11, followed by Junkster on June 16. Shift at Midnight and Denshattack are due to arrive on June 17, by which point this month’s Wave 2 lineup is expected to be formally announced.

This brisk release pace may help offset some of the heavy losses Xbox Game Pass suffered in 2025, when millions of subscribers left the service after a 50% price increase. Microsoft has since partially reversed the move, bringing the Ultimate tier down to $22.99 a month after raising it from $19.99 to $29.99.
