A pair of new Xbox Game Pass day one games have been revealed for 2026: Corsair Cove and Mariachi Legends. Day one releases have become a big part of the appeal of Xbox Game Pass, as they give subscribers a chance to play brand-new games on the same day as every other player, but without having to make an additional purchase.
The news comes at a good time, as Xbox Game Pass just lost 9 games on April 30. That’s just a reality of the service, but losing a bunch of games at the same time can be disappointing for some subscribers, especially when it’s something that they were enjoying. The cycle of games in and out of the service does help to keep things fresh, though.
‘We Know We Have Work To Do’ Xbox Boss Reacts to Q3 2026 Earnings Decline
New Xbox boss Asha Sharma shares her thoughts on the company’s latest earnings report, which shows declines over the previous year.
Corsair Cove and Mariachi Legends Are Coming to Game Pass on Day One in 2026
At some point in 2026, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play Corsair Cove, but a release date for the game has not been revealed. Corsair Cove is currently PC exclusive, so it should come as no surprise that the game will only be available through Xbox Game Pass for PC. Xbox’s Project Helix will play both PC and console games, so this kind of thing could be less of a problem when the new system is released. For now, console-exclusive gamers will have to wait patiently and hope Corsair Cove gets released on Xbox Series X/S. The game will feature city-building elements in a pirate-themed world, and has already been wishlisted more than 100,000 times since it was announced just a few weeks ago.

Mariachi Legends has a more specific release window, arriving in the fourth quarter of 2026. Game Pass subscribers will have a lot more freedom to play it on their platform of choice, as it will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Cloud. Mariachi Legends is a 2D Metroidvania that takes place in Mexico, and it boasts some impressive pixel art. Developer Halberd Studios has described the combat as “brutal,” so Mariachi Legends could be the perfect game for players in search of a challenge.
Subscribers will have to wait a while before they get a chance to play either of these games, but the service should have plenty to keep them busy in the meantime. Xbox Game Pass has a stacked lineup for May, with Forza Horizon 6, Mixtape, and Subnautica 2 all being added soon. Regardless of personal preference, subscribers shouldn’t have any difficulties finding something to play over the coming weeks, and that should help users justify the expense.

There has been a lot of discussion over whether Xbox Game Pass is worth the price lately. The service had a steep price increase last year, which resulted in a lot of negative publicity for the service. Asha Sharma has been making big changes at the company in a short amount of time, and one of her first priorities was an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate price drop. The price drop has made the service a little more affordable, but users no longer get Call of Duty games on day one. Thankfully, it seems there are still plenty of day one games heading to the service in 2026, and gamers now have two more to look forward to.
