Xbox Game Pass is getting a new co-op game called Frog Sqwad in June 2026. The upcoming indie title aims to distinguish itself from the rest of the Xbox Game Pass co-op catalog through a mix of physics-based gameplay, slapstick humor, and support for sizable parties of up to eight players.
Frog Sqwad is the debut title from Panic Stations, a British studio founded in late 2025 by several former developers of the 2020 battle royale hit Fall Guys. Panic Stations is part of Skeleton Crew, a game development collective focused on creating smaller-scale, experimental titles.
Xbox Game Pass Adds 2025 Game with Couch Co-Op and ‘Very Positive’ Reviews
The 11th title to join Xbox Game Pass this month is a 2025 game with couch and online co-op, 86 OpenCritic score, and ‘Very Positive’ player reviews.
Frog Sqwad Revealed as Day-One Xbox Game Pass Title
Panic Stations formally announced Frog Sqwad during the latest Xbox Partner Preview showcase on March 26. The reveal included a 51-second gameplay trailer that establishes the game as a cooperative multiplayer experience in which up to eight players explore vast sewers, haul food back to a “Swamp King,” and solve a bunch of physics challenges along the way. Interacting with objects in Frog Sqwad‘s colorful world typically involves latching onto them with a frog tongue and carefully dragging them across the level. The task becomes more complicated when those objects are rigged to explode or surrounded by traps that threaten to make short work of the frog squad.

Looking at the bigger picture, the newly revealed title draws partly on roguelite elements, as players can exchange food collected during runs for gold, which can then be spent on gadgets and upgrades that expand their options in future runs. The frogs themselves can also consume food to grow larger, eventually transforming into a “Megafrog” capable of overcoming some challenges more easily than its smaller counterparts. Frog Sqwad will also feature proximity chat and procedurally generated levels that help make each sewer run unique.
Frog Sqwad is currently targeting a June 2026 launch, though it is still missing a concrete release date. As is the case with the majority of titles that were featured during the new Xbox Partner Preview event, the co-op platformer is due to join the Xbox Game Pass catalog on day one. Most day-and-date additions to Microsoft’s content library are only available via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, with Frog Sqwad being likely to continue this pattern.
Frog Sqwad is one of nearly 30 day-one titles that are currently confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2026 but are still lacking a firm release date. That group includes roguelite shooter Armatus, horror top-down shooter Darkwood 2, and RTS Tropico 7. Ditto for the much-anticipated open-world RPG Fable, which is currently in its final stretch of development at Playground Games. In the nearer term, Beastro, Freestyle Football 2, and Denshattack are expected to receive availability updates soon, having all previously been officially slated for release in spring 2026.
