Xbox Game Pass is set to lose at least five games on May 15, with the upcoming removals including Galacticare. The newly confirmed catalog update will bring the total number of 2026 Xbox Game Pass departures to 44.
Microsoft’s subscription service has most recently lost games on April 30. That day marked the largest Xbox Game Pass exodus in over a year, with nine titles leaving at once. While Microsoft has not yet officially announced the next wave of departures, a recent catalog update added five new titles to the service’s “Leaving Soon” section found on the Xbox Store.

The May 15 departures include Galacticare, Go Mecha Ball, Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo, PAW Patrol Rescue Wheels: Championship, and Planet of Lana. Brightrock Games’ sci-fi hospital sim Galacticare is the most critically acclaimed of the group, with an 83 average score and an 88% recommendation rate on OpenCritic. Galacticare originally joined Xbox Game Pass in May 2024 as a day-one title and will now leave the service one week before its second anniversary. Its run overlapped with Microsoft’s launch of Xbox Game Pass Standard, now Premium, in September 2024. The then-new tier did not include Galacticare at launch, but added it in March 2025.

Family-friendly racing game PAW Patrol Rescue Wheels: Championship only joined Xbox Game Pass on February 5, 2026, meaning it is now set to leave after just three months and 10 days. While well below the platform’s average, such a short stint is not unprecedented for games developed by 3DClouds. PAW Patrol World previously joined Xbox Game Pass in September 2025, only to leave in January 2026. The main difference is that this was PAW Patrol World‘s second stint on the service, whereas PAW Patrol Rescue Wheels: Championship is currently finishing its first.
Since this list of departures comes from the Xbox app rather than a formal announcement, it may be incomplete. Historically, the app’s “Leaving Soon” section has been relatively, but not perfectly, accurate. Microsoft occasionally announces additional departures alongside the accompanying wave of new releases. More rarely, some games listed as leaving soon remain on the service for a couple more weeks or months than initially announced.

Microsoft is most likely to announce its Wave 1 Xbox Game Pass lineup for the current month on that date, with the update set to include both additions and removals. Final Fantasy 5 is also scheduled to join the service the same day. Looking at the overall month, Xbox Game Pass already has nine confirmed releases for May 2026.
