Kazakhstan-based studio Odd Meter describes Indika in many ways—so many, in fact, that it’s difficult to pinpoint a single defining label. Mechanically, Indika is primarily a 3D third-person adventure, though it occasionally shifts into 2D pixel art. The game blends drama, humor, horror, and mystery to tell the story of a 19th-century Russian nun on a “journey of self-discovery,” accompanied by none other than the devil, who acts as both her companion and the game’s occasionally unreliable narrator. Critics praised Indika for blending elements of historical fantasy with surrealism, all the while lucidly exploring some rather heavy existential and religious themes.

It typically retails for $24.99 and takes approximately five to six hours to complete, based on crowdsourced data. Microsoft’s next content catalog update is happening in less than 24 hours, with Final Fantasy 2 being set to join Xbox Game Pass on February 3.
