Xbox Game Pass Subscribers Have to Say Goodbye to 5 Games By the End of the Month

Xbox Game Pass Subscribers Have to Say Goodbye to 5 Games By the End of the Month

Xbox Game Pass subscribers should brace themselves for five games that are leaving the service in December 2025. There are established patterns when it comes to Xbox Game Pass removals, with Microsoft usually alerting fans about upcoming departures about two weeks out. However, the Xbox Game Pass games leaving December 2025 are an exception to the rule, as not only has Microsoft confirmed the games that are out the door on December 15, but it has also revealed the titles that will be leaving on December 31 as well.

Just recently, Microsoft revealed all the new Xbox Game Pass games coming in December 2025 across the service’s various tiers. Game Pass has already added Marvel Cosmic Invasion and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, with Routine coming on December 4, and A Game About Digging a Hole, Death Howl, and Dome Keeper all on deck for December 9. Mortal Kombat 1 is coming on December 10, and finally, Bratz: Rhythm and Style will be joining on December 11. The same announcement that revealed all these games coming to Game Pass in December also clued fans in on the titles that will be leaving this month as well.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Confirms Surprise Day 1 Release and 6 Other Games Coming Soon

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate confirms seven games that subscribers can look forward to playing in the very near future.

List of Xbox Game Pass Games Leaving in December 2025

  • Still Wakes the Deep
  • Wildfrost

Games Leaving on December 31

As announced by Microsoft, three games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass on December 15 in the form of Mortal Kombat 11, Still Wakes the Deep, and Wildfrost. Then, on December 31, two more games will be on the chopping block. That day, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have to say goodbye to Carrion and Hell Let Loose. Needless to say, Xbox Game Pass subscribers may want to prioritize playing these games while they are still on the service. Even if they don’t have time to play through them in their entirety, Game Pass is still a good way to try before you buy because titles have a 20% discount while on the platform.

For those unfamiliar with the games, Mortal Kombat 11 is a fighting game with a stacked roster that should keep fans busy for hours on end. It is the highest-profile game leaving Xbox Game Pass in December 2025 for sure, but it is at least being replaced by Mortal Kombat 1 on December 15. Despite what the numbers in their titles might imply, Mortal Kombat 1 is actually the latest game in the series, whereas Mortal Kombat 11 is its predecessor. Mortal Kombat 1 actually had slightly higher reviews than MK11, so for some fans it may feel like an upgrade.

Still Wakes the Deep is a horror game set on an oil rig developed by The Chinese Room, while Wildfrost is a 2023 roguelike deck-builder. Both games earned mostly positive reviews and so it will be sad to see them go. Remember, those games and MK11 will all be leaving on December 15, so they should be prioritized.

The two games leaving on December 31 are reverse-horror game Carrion, where players take on the role of a creepy monster, and Hell Let Loose, a multiplayer World War 2 tactical FPS. The good news is that some of the games leaving Game Pass this month are relatively short, with Carrion and Still Wakes the Deep both beatable in about five hours or so, so there should be time for subscribers to play through at least some of the departures this month.
