The summer gaming festivities are almost here, with the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 slated to air on Sunday, June 7, at 10 am PT/1 pm ET, and fans now know of one game that’ll appear at the event. Other confirmed events, as of this writing, include the PlayStation State of Play on June 2 and Summer Game Fest on June 5. Nintendo has yet to confirm anything, at least right now, but a Nintendo Direct is expected to happen sometime in June.
While the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 only has this one game confirmed, it’s worth noting that some fans think a recent Xbox Game Pass adjustment leaked some. Essentially, a bunch of games were just moved to TBA/Coming Soon, making users think they’ll appear at the Showcase. The supposed Xbox Games Showcase leaked games are Clockwork Revolution, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Tropico 7, Armatus, Witchbrook, Fable, and There Are No Ghosts at the Grand. Interestingly, however, none of these games is the one confirmed.
It’s Officially Time to Delay the Next Generation of PlayStation and Xbox Consoles
Recent news proves that the current economy cannot handle the supposed releases of the PS6 and Xbox Helix in 2027, not without a major turnaround.
June 7 is a Double Dip in Gears of War: E-Day
The Xbox Games Showcase will be followed by a Gears of War: E-Day Direct, but as announced ahead of time, Gears of War: E-Day will also have a presence at the Xbox Games Showcase, too. This shouldn’t be surprising, as the 2024 event featured Black Ops 6 during the Showcase and the Direct, and the 2025 event did for The Outer Worlds 2. Both were released in those respective years as well, meaning that fans can expect Gears of War: E-Day this year too, despite it not being on the aforementioned list. During the event, the Direct will showcase “new details, gameplay, and insights” into the game as well, according to Xbox.

As fans of the franchise know, Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel set before the events of the original Gears of War. Developed by The Coalition and People Can Fly, which worked on Gears of War: Judgment, it sees players step into the shoes of Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago during the events of Emergence Day. The Locust Horde attacks the surface and faces off with the Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) in the city of Kalona. Because this is the first contract, Gears of War: E-Day works to bring back some of the horror behind the Locust Horde to the fore.
Overall, it looks like a solid game and has been set to release in 2026 for some time. Which is why the aforementioned TBA section of Xbox Game Pass does not include this title. Perhaps there’s some special backend stuff because Xbox intends to shadow drop Gears of War: E-Day, which would be a great way to dominate conversation for just a little bit, though that is just playful speculation. But, in all likelihood, that supposed Xbox Game Pass leak doesn’t “hide” as many details as fans would hope.

What is interesting is the slate of Xbox games in 2026 (published by Xbox Games Studio). Forza Horizon 6 is one of the highest-rated games of the year so far, with Gears of War: E-Day and Fable being two big ones on the horizon. Combined with other Xbox Games Studio games, those mentioned in the leak, and possible surprises, and it seems like Xbox is finally hitting a stride. But we’ll see how the Xbox Games Showcase shakes out.
