Xbox Unveils Brand New Logo with Return to Classic Green

Xbox Unveils Brand New Logo with Return to Classic Green

Xbox has unveiled a brand-new logo — one that’s likely to appeal to longtime fans of the Microsoft-owned company. While the brand has gone through some ups and downs in recent years, new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma seems determined to set things right, at least thus far. While there are plenty of stumbles the executive could make along the way, it’s difficult not to root for Xbox’s comeback.

The last few weeks have seen a flurry of changes at the publisher. Sharma has announced that Microsoft Gaming branding is going away, and Xbox branding is being restored. This new logo is obviously a key factor in the change, as a brand’s visual identity is one of its most defining elements. Luckily, the new logo appears to be doing a lot right.

Xbox Could Be Rethinking Its Approach to Exclusive Games, Insider Claims

An industry insider suggests that Xbox leadership may be rethinking its controversial decision to move away from console exclusives.

New Xbox Logo Unveiled

Over on Twitter, the official Xbox Account shared the new logo along with the message “We Are Xbox.” Featuring a vibrant green color scheme and a sort of glassy look, the logo is evocative of both the original Xbox and the Xbox 360, meeting both designs somewhere in the middle. It’s an admittedly good play for the company, paying homage to the past while looking to the future.

On Reddit, reactions to the new logo have been positive. User dreadmouse stated “Very classic Xbox. I dig it,” while ATonofBricksFellOnMe chimed in with, “Yeah, new CEO is amazing.” There was plenty more praise too, as fans celebrated Xbox stepping away from its previous, minimalist logo. Even during its debut in the early Xbox One era, many saw the flatter design as a bit boring compared to what had come before.

While her tenure has been short, Sharma is racking up PR wins at a blazing pace. Perhaps the biggest is that Xbox is lowering Game Pass subscription prices, a move that received a similar positive reaction from fans. And while Call of Duty is no longer part of the subscription, the monthly cost savings from the lower price would cover the $70 price tag of a new release, if a subscriber were to set the difference aside throughout the year.

There’s certainly plenty for gamers to look forward to, too. There are some massive Xbox games releasing this year, including a new Forza Horizon game and the long-awaited return of the coveted Fable franchise. Taken together, it’s one of Xbox’s punchiest lineups in recent history, following something of a dry spell from the company.

Additionally, a new Xbox console is on the horizon. With the new system seemingly set to blur the lines between console and PC, Xbox is going to be on solid ground so long as it can stick the landing. Of course, there are still a lot of questions circulating. It’s unclear when the console will be fully revealed, how the hybrid system works, and how much it’ll cost in an economy where electronics are being sold at elevated prices. For now, though, fans can at least bask in the new Xbox logo and hope for the best.
