It’s the 30th anniversary of Pokemon this year, and to celebrate, Pokemon-themed versions of the popular Goldfish snack are on the way.
The limited-edition Goldfish packs are inspired by the Pokemon’s original starters–Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Pikachu. The snacks themselves are shaped and colored to match the four Pokemon, and like in the game series, the aim is to encourage you to collect them all.
As for the Goldfish taste? It’s the same cheddar Goldfish flavor. If you’re interested in eating Pokemon, you cannot do that, but here are some Pokemon that, frankly, look delicious.
This isn’t the first licensed collab for Goldfish, of course, as the company previously worked with franchises like Harry Potter, Toy Story, and Star Wars, just to name a few.
These new Pokemon Goldfish packs are rolling out in May at stores across the US, though the Pikachu pack is exclusive to Walmart and Target. Each pack has a list price of $3.70.
Goldfish also announced a sweepstakes that fans can enter for a chance to an an all-expenses-paid trip to the Pokemon Fossil Museum at The Field Museum in Chicago. In addition to the grand prize, there are “hundreds” of instant prizes. More details will be shared on the sweepstakes website in May.
The 30th-anniversary celebrations for Pokemon also included a celebrity-filled Super Bowl commercial earlier this year and the return of Pokemon Pop-Tarts for the first time in a quarter century.
