Square Enix has revealed a Premium Edition of Final Fantasy VII Revelation that costs $100. While it includes access to the Story Expansion Pass for two DLCs, it’s also required to access the open-world RPG a day earlier than its normal April 8, 2026 release date.
But that’s not technically even the most expensive version of the game. There’s also a Premium Plus Edition that gives fans the digital art book, soundtrack, and some extra items for $110. Here’s all of Final Fantasy VII Revelation‘s pre-order and Premium Edition bonuses:

While we don’t know what the “Sephiroth” and “Vincent & the Turks” DLCs will contain, Square Enix says Story DLC 1 is targeting release in Winter 2027 and Story DLC 2 is targeting release in Spring 2028. Both will be available to purchase separately; those individual prices haven’t been revealed yet.
Charging super fans for early access to a new game is becoming a standard way for publishers to try to increase revenue, even as prices and sales numbers stay relatively flat. It also sucks because it tries to turn FOMO into an extra buck.
Depending on how you look at it, “24-Hour Early Access” is either better or worse in that regard. Better because it’s only tempting fans with a mere day of getting to play Final Fantasy VII Revelation before everyone else, and worse because you’re paying an extra $30 and only getting a day’s head start (along with the rest of the bonuses, though pre-ordering DLC without descriptions or release dates is definitely a choice).
