A new LEGO set based on Nintendo’s Donkey Kong franchise has leaked online, and it’s going to cost $200 when it arrives in stores. LEGO and Nintendo have spent the last several years collaborating together, resulting in a number of sets based on popular video game franchises. Some of these sets have been aimed at adult builders, while others have been released with a broader audience in mind.
LEGO teased a Donkey Kong set earlier this year, and now official box art has leaked on Reddit. The set is based on the 1981 Donkey Kong arcade cabinet, with images of DK, Mario, and Pauline surrounding the border. The 1,367-piece set features the 25m level from the game, and it replicates several iconic details. DK can be seen in a position throwing barrels, while Mario is ready to avoid an oncoming obstacle. Hammers, ladders, and fireballs have all been recreated in LEGO form, while Pauline cries for help.
