5 Strongest Hunters You’ve Never Heard Of, Ranked

5 Strongest Hunters You’ve Never Heard Of, Ranked

Chugon’s Solo Leveling is, without question, the most famous and influential manhwa of all time. Anybody remotely into anime or webtoons recognizes Sung Jin-woo and other hunters like Cha Hae-In, Thomas Andrea, and Go Gun-Hee – they border on iconic. Due to its popularity, none of the characters can be described as unknown, and that honestly extends to the Ragnarok spinoff… however, I cannot say the same for Netmarble’s Solo Leveling: Arise game.

Although set in an alternate timeline, the free-to-play gacha game is considered canon to the multiverse, which means its original characters are not just fanfiction. While hunters from the manhwa are available, some of Arise‘s strongest characters are exclusive to it, at least for now. Even if you have no intention of playing the game, you should still know these powerful hunters.

Obviously, Solo Leveling: Arise is fairly popular, so a lot of people know these characters. That said, someone who sticks just to the manhwa or anime is missing out on some awesome hunters. Except for one character, these hunters all have webtoon origin stories worth reading, even if you don’t plan to play Arise.

Also, I’m mostly focusing on the lore, with only some references to Arise‘s meta.

Charlotte & Harper Are OP Pint-Sized Sibling Hunters

Two Solo Leveling Hunters Are Better Than One

Solo Leveling looks beyond South Korea to an extent, but other countries might get a single character (usually their strongest). Despite consisting of multiple countries, Britain doesn’t even get a showcase hunter in the main manhwa, so readers would be forgiven for believing that the United Kingdom has nothing to show for itself.

Solo Leveling: 14 Best Female Characters, Ranked

Solo Leveling is home to a vast collection of great characters. Here are the best women who feature throughout the anime and manhwa.

Well, Solo Leveling: Arise fixes that oversight by introducing multiple British hunters, starting with the sibling duo of Charlotte and Harper. Part of the game-exclusive Helpers guild, the sisters are probably the most “child-like” hunters in the franchise, although they are actually 16 and not that young. Still, they have a playful energy that helps really sell their designs and personalities.

Even though they are only A-Rank, Charlotte and Harper really should be taken as a unit, and they synergize so well that they compare favorably with many lower-tier S-Rank hunters. While Charlotte fights with dolls, Harper uses a heavy mallet twice her size, serving as the physical powerhouse who complements her sister’s magical prowess.

Isla Wright Can Predict The Future

She Believes In The Power Of Her Cards

Intrinsically tied to Charlotte and Harper, Isla Wright is way more powerful than her A-Rank and Healer classifications suggest, and she is actually one of the stronger playable characters. Focusing solely on the lore, Isla’s special power allows her to predict the future using tarot cards, although the information can be vague at times. This inherently incredible ability could easily be one of the most OP in Solo Leveling if it’s used to its full potential.

Despite her A-Rank classification, Isla might as well be an S-Rank, as she comfortably ranks among the most powerful playable characters in the meta. Her mastery of Darkness allows her to deal significant damage, while also acting as a great support that can provide boosts to the full team. Lore-wise, she is slightly held back by her lack of self-confidence, leading to hesitation when action is required. However, she is still among the Helpers guild’s most useful members.

Emma Laurent Is A Fiery Hunter With An Eye For Vengeance

So Strong, She Got A Promotion

  • S-Rank
  • Tank
  • No Hunter Origin

Because she debuted before Hunter Origin comics became a thing, Emma never received one of her own, which is a shame, as she is both cool-as-heck and really strong. In her initial teaser, the French hunter was classified as an A-Rank, but Netmarble opted to bump that up to S-Rank before she became playable. This change was 100% justified, as Emma behaves like an absolute monster in dungeons.

Wielding her exclusive fire-imbued rapier, Emma’s core mechanical system revolves around scaling her damage directly off her Max HP, making her a massive tank that hits like a literal freight train. She is also one of the most reliable Break characters in Solo Leveling Arise, which makes her incredibly valuable against harder enemies with high defense.

Lore-wise, Emma’s cheery exterior hides a traditional revenge story, as she wants to take out the person responsible for her brother’s death. Due to how everything played out, she believes the person responsible is Alicia Blanche, but that quickly proves not to be the case.

Alicia Blanche Is Europe’s Most Powerful Hunter

The Ice Witch

If I had to pick one original Arise character who feels the most like a protagonist in wanting, Alicia Blanche would be that hunter.

Firstly, she is known as the “Ice Witch,” a cool-as-heck title that reflects her complicated backstory (she was framed for her father’s death, leading to the demise of their legendary guild). Secondly, she acts as Justitia’s guild master, an organization she erected from the fallen remains of her family’s legacy. Thirdly, she served as the protagonist of the first Hunter Origin webtoon, which is one of the most tragic.

strongest solo leveling hunters confirmed season 3

10 Strongest Solo Leveling Hunters Officially Confirmed for Season 3

Solo Leveling Season 3 is officially happening, and it will bring back powerful hunters who stand at the very peak of humanity.

Finally, Alicia’s toolkit comfortably puts her alongside hunters like Choi Jong-In, as she manipulates water and ice to freeze high-level dungeon bosses or trigger sudden blizzards. Arguably Europe’s strongest character in the entire franchise (which isn’t saying much, to be honest), she is one of Arise‘s real staple hunters who can be slotted into most teams without any issue.

1

Amamiya Mirei Is A Demon

Well, She Merges With A Demon

Solo Leveling features quite a lot of S-Rank Japanese hunters, although the Jeju Island raid leaves the roster somewhat depleted. If only they had a deadly assassin who could become a demon who deals absurd wind damage!

Written as a hyper-focused, lethal assassin, Mirei isn’t just a regular sword-wielding hunter. She operates as a spiritual medium, binding her soul to a powerful, ancient guardian cat spirit named Kuroha. Together, they form a dual-entity combat unit that moves too fast for the naked eye to track. When she channels Kuroha and enters her ultimate state, he receives massive boosts to her abilities, turning him into an absolutely dangerous damage dealer.

Although none of Arise‘s recruitable hunters are anywhere near as broken as Sung, Mirei comes the closest, especially in her lore.
