How Overwatch May Have Quietly Spoiled Its Season 6 Hero

How Overwatch May Have Quietly Spoiled Its Season 6 Hero

As Overwatch fans are currently either enjoying their time playing as the new hero Sierra or demanding that she be nerfed, it’s clear that it’ll be some time before official looks are given at the other heroes that will be added throughout 2026. Sierra only just released, after all, and with Seasons lasting nine weeks, teasers for the Season 3 character are a few months away. However, while Blizzard won’t be talking about the next Overwatch hero through official channels anytime soon, a recent leak from SarenArtanis detailed the remaining heroes of Reign of Talon. Per this leak, Overwatch’s 2026 heroes will be:

  • A Hashimoto gang leader with two pistols and a bayonet. Said to have a simple kit, like Cassidy (Damage — Season 3)
  • D.Mon, a long-awaited addition and one of D.Va’s MEKA squadmates. Supposedly plays like Marvel Rivals’ Angela, with a sword, shield, and a new health type (Tank — Season 4)
  • An Omnic detective working for one of Overwatch’s established factions. Their cane is their main weapon, and they have an anti-heal aura (Support — Season 5)
  • Hivemind, an ex-Talon member freed from an Iceland prison that commands an army of drones. (Support — Season 6)

Of these heroes, many already have their eyes on the Season 4 and Season 5 additions. A new Tank feels overdue, and D.Mon is a particularly prevalent hero request, while an Omnic detective seems like a character that’s guaranteed to be popular given the love for characters like Fallout 4’s Nick Valentine. However, the Season 6 Overwatch hero is worth drawing a bit of early attention to given that we may have already seen Hivemind’s kit via the latest April Fools’ Day update.

Obviously, like all rumors, the Overwatch Reign of Talon hero leak should be taken with a grain of salt. It does, however, line up with the silhouettes unveiled for the characters ahead of Season 1’s launch.

Overwatch Buffs New Hero Sierra On Her Birthday

Overwatch rolls out a hotfix that buffs Sierra, the new hero added in Season 2: Summit – and on her in-universe birthday, no less.

Hivemind’s Overwatch Kit May Be a Mix of Two April Fools’ Day Changes

Whether it’s for Stadium mode or Perks, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that a few of the Underwatch 2026 changes become real abilities down the road. While some are truly ridiculous, like tiny Lifeweaver and Jetpack Cat’s wrecking ball, others are less so. Melee Genji was hugely entertaining and would be fun to see realized through Stadium additions, while Wuyang’s chargeable wave would be an excellent Perk to integrate into the main game. And, given the description available for Hivemind, a combination of Moira and Symmetra’s abilities could create an entertaining kit worthy of a character that has “an army of drones” at their disposal.

For those who missed out on the latest Overwatch April Fools’ gag, or forgot what exactly Symmetra and Moira could do in the Underwatch LTM, a refresher could be worthwhile. For Symmetra, her turrets were no longer attached to surfaces, as she instead turned herself into a moving car wash. Each tossed turret surrounded Symmetra and followed her around, dealing less damage but still being a terrifying sight when combined with her main weapon’s beam. As for Moira, she could attach healing and damage orb’s to her allies, making them living orbs to recharge her resources or help better heal her allies. When paired with a fast character like Tracer, Genji, or Reaper, these mobile orbs could be hugely powerful.

Overwatch’s Hivemind Could Make Non-Supports Into Healers

Starting with Illari, Team 4 has been striving to give Overwatch’s Support heroes more damage capabilities, and perhaps Hivemind could have a constant choice between boosting their own attack capabilities or healing their allies. If Hivemind uses a drone on themselves, it could work like Symmetra’s Underwatch turrets, attaching to Hivemind and dealing extra damage when they fire off whatever their primary weapon is. If Hivemind attaches the drones to their allies, they could heal the allies and those in an aura that surrounds them, making them mobile healing beacons and ensuring Hivemind is basically Overwatch’s spin on Marvel Rivals’ Ultron. While this is obviously just speculation, and the Underwatch 2026 abilities could have been fun one-offs as opposed to subtle teasers for the future, they do suit what Hivemind is supposedly going to be.
