Magic: the Gathering may have accidentally leaked some new cards appearing in the Marvel Super Heroes crossover in June. The cards, erroneously included in a Secrets of Strixhaven Magic pack, include fan-favorite characters like Iron Man and Thor.
The beloved trading card game from Wizards of the Coast has already seen a busy 2026, with multiple major expansions launching throughout the early months of the year. Magic: the Gathering kicked off the year with the long-awaited return to a pair of popular planes, bringing back Lorwyn and Shadowmoor with the release of Lorwyn Eclipsed. Wizards of the Coast followed up Lorwyn Eclipsed with a brand-new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover, while Secrets of Strixhaven brought fans back to Arcavios for more adventures at the titular magical university. However, Magic: the Gathering may have leaked some major cards from its next expansion through a Secrets of Strixhaven product.

Magic: The Gathering Marvel Super Heroes Cards Leaked
- Iron Man, Master of Machines
- Thor Odinson
- Agent Maria Hill
- Ronin, Shadow Stalker
Reddit user BRBgottahunt unexpectedly came across four cards from Magic: the Gathering‘s next Marvel crossover in a Secrets of Strixhaven Draft Night box. One pack in the box notably did not include the normal Uncommon cards from Secrets of Strixhaven, but it instead had a set of Uncommons from the upcoming Marvel Super Heroes set. The set of four includes two of the original Avengers, with cards of both Thor and Iron Man pulled from the pack. S.H.I.E.L.D. member and eventual director Maria Hill is getting her own card within the Marvel set, while Ronin is also confirmed to appear in the Magic crossover. Magic: the Gathering‘s Marvel Super Heroes expansion is scheduled to release on June 26.
The Marvel Super Heroes leaks also tease some new mechanics in the next Magic set. The Agent Maria Hill card makes reference to a new mechanic in Magic: the Gathering, with “teamwork” seemingly involving tapping creatures for varying effects. Maria’s functionality may also suggest specific cards can benefit from being used for the mechanic, with Maria gaining +1/+1 counters when being tapped for teamwork effects. Artifacts could be a major focus in the Marvel expansion as well, with Iron Man gaining power based on controlling Artifacts, while Ronin allows players to pay life to cast Equipment spells and use Equip abilities.
While Magic’s Marvel Super Heroes crossover isn’t set to officially release until June, fans have already been given an early taste of what’s to come. Wizards of the Coast revealed multiple cards coming with the Marvel expansion, including powerful cards based on The Incredible Hulk and Captain America. Leaks have even teased four new pre-constructed Commander decks releasing alongside Marvel Super Heroes, including decks for the Avengers, Doctor Doom, The Fantastic Four, and Black Panther.

Magic: the Gathering has plenty more on the way beyond Marvel Super Heroes in 2026, including two more crossovers and a new in-universe set. Wizards of the Coast will debut new expansions based on The Hobbit and Star Trek later in the year, with The Hobbit releasing on August 14 and Star Trek on November 13. Reality Fracture is slated to be the final in-universe Magic set of 2026, with early leaks hinting at color-shifted Planeswalkers and much more for its October 2 debut. Magic: the Gathering players should have no shortage of new cards to collect and play throughout the rest of 2026.
