A gamer who got their hands on Forza Horizon 6 early has reportedly been banned from the title for almost 8,000 years after modding the game file. Forza Horizon 6 officially comes out next week, but a major leak has allowed some gamers to jump in on the action ahead of its launch.
155GB of Forza Horizon 6 leaked online recently after dataminers were able to access the game file early. Playground Games accidentally left the data exposed while preloading files into a Steam update. This led to a few gamers being able to access parts of the game early, with some even going so far as to mod their findings. However, it looks like modding the pirated version of the game is a terrible idea, as it has allegedly left one player with a massive ban that is going to take lifetimes to get lifted.

Forza Horizon 6 Fan Gets an 8,000-Year Ban After Playing the Leaked Version of the Game
A screenshot of this wild player ban has been shared by TheGameVerse on Twitter, showing that the gamer in question was sent a message stating that their account has been suspended until the year 9999. This image hasn’t been fully confirmed, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. However, gamers have been hit with long bans in the past for similar reasons, so it’s not impossible. Forza Horizon 6‘s release date is only a few days away at this point, but there are a few gamers who simply couldn’t wait to check it out.

The banned player allegedly tried to mod Forza Horizon 6 with cheats, which is what initiated the harsh ban. Even though it’s unclear if this image is fully legit or not, it’s worth other gamers taking this into consideration before potentially modding the racing game before it comes out. It’s been five years since Forza Horizon 5, so the excitement for a new game is understandable. However, that excitement has apparently backfired for some. It’s also important to mention that the leaked version online is only a sliver of what the game offers. Forza Horizon 6‘s file size is huge, so the gamer only got to experience a portion of the game before being hit with the ban.
Also, online features like Forza Horizon 6‘s multiplayer don’t work in the leaked file, and there have also been reports from players across social media that the pirated version has some serious crashing problems. It’s unfortunate that a chunk of the game leaked online before the launch, but at least it doesn’t represent the full experience.

Even though a new entry in the franchise is exciting, waiting to play Forza Horizon 6 on Game Pass or buying it on PC or Xbox is the safest option. Those who are really eager can even preload Forza Horizon 6 to be extra prepared. There’s always the chance that this 8,000-year ban message turns out to be fake, but it’s ultimately better to be safe than sorry in these situations.
