Forza Horizon 6 is finally here, opening its gorgeous open world of Japan to all players. With the biggest (and most beautiful) map in the series to date, the largest number of cars (over 550) at launch, fun collectibles, and dozens of racing events to tackle, the game is flexible and exciting, allowing players to enjoy it at their own pace. While the starting vehicles handed to new players aren’t too fancy, nothing prevents you from quickly getting some cash and unlocking much faster cars to freely drive everywhere.
Of course, there’s always the question of which Forza Horizon 6 cars are the best for their money in the opening hours. With some luck, players can quickly get expensive and exclusive rides via Wheelspins, as well as find extra treasure and barn cars in the world. But for a more reliable strategy, buying new cars from the Autoshow is your best bet — especially since it’s currently hard to find cars to buy out from the Auction House cheaper than purchasing them directly from the shop.
Don’t Make the Same Mistake I Did in Forza Horizon 6
Forza Horizon 6 players should be sure to avoid making one of the main mistakes I did playing through the open world racer.
The car selection below lists the best and fastest cars available in Forza Horizon 6 from the Autoshow in a sub-100,000 CR price range. This means players can earn enough money to buy any of them during the first hour with the game. The focus is on S1-class or higher-end A-class vehicles with a speed rating of at least 7.2 (roughly translating to around 200 mph top speed).
If you played previous Forza games on the same Xbox account, you can unlock the respective bonus cars, which will be added to your garage automatically after the first introduction races. Some of these are quite fast (and expensive), although these exclusive rewards can’t be sold via Auctions.

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 2017
Speed: 7.3 (200 mph)
- Price: 55,000 CR
- Class: S1 727
The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is a no-brainer to grab almost instantly once you gain access to the Autoshow in Forza Horizon 6, as it’s the cheapest S1-class ride in the entire game. Given its performance and top speed, it’s honestly a steal at just 55,000 CR, almost twice as cheap as other cars with comparable stats. The true pinnacle of modern American muscle, the Camaro ZL1 can be a great choice for smashing speed records very early in the game, even without any upgrades. There’s really no reason to avoid this car when starting your journey in Japan.
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe 2020
Speed: 7.2 (198 mph)
- Price: 65,000 CR
- Class: A 699
Another easy alternative to the Camaro ZL1, the more modern Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe is just a tad more expensive (but still incredibly cheap overall) while offering the same spectacular top speed and acceleration to be a true menace on the road. What’s most surprising is how this monster is actually an A-class vehicle in Forza Horizon 6, instantly giving you an edge in every possible racing event in its class with no extra investments. Sleek, stylish, and speedy, the Corvette Stingray Coupe was born for high-speed, aggressive driving and can be a sheer joy to drift around the corners.

Nissan GT-R Black Edition (R35) 2012
Speed: 7.6 (212 mph)
- Price: 80,000 CR
- Class: S1 703
The Nissan GT-R Black Edition is the only Japanese car on this list, which probably adds some extra authenticity points to picking up an R35 early from the Autoshow in Forza Horizon 6. As iconic as it is a true powerhouse, the Nissan GT-R’s top speed is among the best in its price segment, while the car’s handling is some of the most fun and satisfying to experience. Every time I drive one of these in Forza games, I feel right at home, so you should definitely try one yourself. It’s worth mentioning that there’s another GT-R version available for some extra credits, yet the difference between the two performance-wise is minimal.
Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock 2022
Speed: 7.6 (205 mph)
- Price: 87,000 CR
- Class: A 695
Another great muscle car choice for top-speed junkies in Forza Horizon 6 early on, the Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock is a menacing, drag-racing-focused variant that serves as the pinnacle of the entire Challenger lineup. As expected, its sheer speed and acceleration allow it to perform comparably to some of the best Chevrolet and Ford models. Interestingly, the Challenger SRT Super Stock proves an even better value than the slightly more expensive SRT Demon, which offers a bit more top speed but isn’t as well-rounded in other areas and sits in the mid-A class.
Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R 2016
Speed: 7.2 (188 mph)
- Price: 88,000 CR
- Class: S1 721
Undoubtedly, the fast and affordable vehicle segment in Forza Horizon 6 is all but dominated by iconic muscle cars, and the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R is yet another strong contender in the sub-100,000 range. While the pros of getting this car early are apparent — given its iconic looks, timeless legacy, and signature RWD driving — it’s worth noting that if you’re looking for the best speed-to-price ratio in the game, the Mustang Shelby GT350R can slightly disappoint. Still, the car performs well in most conditions you can put it in, and you can easily enhance its top speed with just some tweaking under the hood.
Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 2022
Speed: 7.4 (197 mph)
- Price: 90,000 CR
- Class: S1 701
For most, Cadillac is hardly associated with high-performance vehicles, yet the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing proves this perception should be reconsidered. With great speed, an affordable price, and borderline class positioning in Forza Horizon 6, you can easily make it either a top-tier A-class contender or a no less impressive S1-class star, depending on your goals. Whatever the case, the CT5-V Blackwing is capable of reaching almost 200 mph out of the gate, while the car’s reliable and smooth handling and predictable braking make it really easy to compete on the most intense tracks in Japan.

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2015
Speed: 7.8 (214 mph)
- Price: 100,000 CR
- Class: S1 755
Easily the fastest car in Forza Horizon 6 that players can get for a modest price of 100,000 CR, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is also quite a looker, combining the aggressiveness of a muscle car with the visual elegance of a modern supercar. Sitting right in the middle of the S1 class, the Corvette Z06 could use just some light tweaking to reach the top of its own category for confident high-speed racing, while even its stock variant can be used effectively for setting records at Speed Traps and Speed Zones PR stunts across Japan early on.
BMW M8 Competition Coupe 2020
Speed: 7.7 (210 mph)
- Price: 100,000 CR
- Class: A 684
For its impressive top speed of 210 mph, which is among the fastest in its price range, the BMW M8 Competition Coupe is somewhat underappreciated for its class positioning in-game, especially given how high-performing this vehicle is in every department, from handling to acceleration. Needless to say, this allows the BMW M8 in its stock variant to literally chew through the majority of the A-class competition in Forza Horizon 6, leaving many other cars in the dust on long stretches. You can turn it into an S1-class beast pretty easily with just a handful of upgrades to compete even among the likes of Lamborghini and McLaren along the highways of Japan.

McLaren 12C Coupe 2011
Speed: 7.6 (210 mph)
- Price: 105,000 CR
- Class: S1 727
Even if it sits just a tad beyond the 100,000 CR price category, it’s hard to overlook the McLaren 12C Coupe, which represents one of the most exclusive and fastest cars in its segment. Combining surprisingly great stats across the board for such an affordable price, the 12C Coupe is an easy contender to pick as one of the first cars for comfortable and fast driving with unmatched dynamics. Overall, it’s worth mentioning how cheap many McLaren models are in Forza Horizon 6, so if you can afford spending around 150,000 CR on these spectacular rides (which is hardly a problem even early on), you can consider several different McLaren variants.
