Xbox Game Pass has just added two new titles, while also expanding its Premium-tier library with three other games. The highlight of the new batch is Remnant 2, which has now returned for its second stint on Xbox Game Pass.
Developed by Texas-based studio Gunfire Games, Remnant 2 is a highly successful soulslike originally released in July 2023. It has achieved a “Strong” rating on OpenCritic, based on 117 reviews with an average score of 82 and an 86% recommendation rate. Critics praised its compelling co-op and significant replay value, the latter supported by procedural generation systems. Over time, Remnant 2 has earned a reputation as one of the strongest hybrids of third-person shooter and soulslike design, with its soulslike identity reflected in its stamina management, environmental storytelling, and a FromSoftware-style checkpoint system.
Xbox Game Pass Adds Highest-Rated Game of 2026
The highest-rated game of 2026 so far is now available on Xbox Game Pass, having debuted on two tiers of the subscription service.
Remnant 2 Is Now Officially Back on Xbox Game Pass
Less than a year after Remnant 2 left Xbox Game Pass in mid-2025, the hit soulslike is back in Microsoft’s subscription catalog. As before, it is available across three tiers of the service, having skipped only the XGP Essential library. Gunfire’s co-op title originally spent 18 months in the Xbox Game Pass catalog. Assuming a similar licensing agreement was struck this time around, Remnant 2 could remain on the service until late 2027. The start of its second stint on the service coincides with the return of My Friend Peppa Pig, which was previously available on Xbox Game Pass between July 2022 and June 2025.

The May 20 catalog update also includes three new titles for the Premium-tier library: Dead Static Drive, Pigeon Simulator, and Winter Burrow. All three originally joined the higher tiers of the service in November 2025 as day-one releases. Winter Burrow also marked a significant milestone for the platform, as the cozy hand-drawn survival game was the 200th title added to Xbox Game Pass in 2025.

Another half a dozen titles are scheduled to reach Xbox Game Pass in the final third of May 2026. Sci-fi first-person shooter Luna Abyss will be the first to arrive on May 21, followed by Escape Simulator five days later. The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition and Echo Generation 2 are then due to debut on May 27, whereas Kabuto Park and Crashout Crew will arrive the following day.

The Xbox Game Pass Wave 1 lineup for next month is likely to be announced on June 2. That is also the date when Jurassic World Evolution 3 and Final Fantasy 6 are coming to the service, with both expected to arrive around midnight local time.
