Forza Horizon 6 Teases Future Plans and Game Improvements

After a very successful launch, Playground Games reveals what’s next for Forza Horizon 6, outlining player feedback, upcoming improvements, and a tease of new content. Ever since Forza Horizon 6 officially announced Japan as its next location, there’s been plenty of excitement from fans. With a diverse biome to race around in, there’s seemingly something for everyone to experience.

The franchise has always been a big seller for Microsoft and the same rings true for this latest entry. Alongside a lot of Early Access players, Forza Horizon 6 has already smashed a major series record as the player count on Steam has already blown past 280,000 concurrent players. For context, Forza Horizon 5‘s peak only reached 81,096 at its height, so this represents over three times the player numbers and its worth remembering this is only the Steam version on PC. With so much success and excitement from the community already, Playground Games laid out some immediate plans to keep that momentum going.

As part of a thank-you post for those who have picked up the game and helped Forza Horizon 6 achieve a 90+ rating, Playground Games confirmed that it doesn’t plan to slow down when it comes to keeping the game feel alive with updates and content. The studio revealed that it is currently developing future content updates, like the Italian Passion Car Pack, which is due out in July, as well as two big expansions, and the promised PS5 version of Forza Horizon 6 later this year.

However, the biggest piece of this update is regarding fan feedback and highlighting some of the biggest areas for improvement. The first bullet point was in reference to the Drivatar AI opponents, which some have pointed out feel too fast, especially at higher difficulties. In fact, some players have already posted things online regarding specific drivatars showing up in races, like Bowie_ Knife99 and Drathful being particular menaces. Playground is currently investigating and plans to share more once a plan is put into place and feedback monitored.

Playground Games also highlighted a number of PC-specific issues that it has seen reported since Forza Horizon 6 launched in Early Access. The studio is currently investigating a number of issues ranging from audio crackling, crashing, as well as loading screen errors. In addition, for AMD users, Playground is aware of reports of framerate and other performance-related problems. The studio is requesting that players who are experiencing these issues use the Feedback Portal to provide more information, while also making sure players double check that they have the latest update for their graphics driver while also meeting the minimum and recommended specs.

Many players continue to bring up the Maxed Out achievement for Forza Horizon 6, a controversial one that fans are hoping gets changed in some capacity. The achievement is clearly something that was created to keep bringing players back for the long term as it requires hitting Level 100 in Horizon Play, not simply the player account. Horizon Play is the game’s multiplayer suite and some have reported that to unlock this will take an absurd amount of time, forcing a huge grind that many just don’t want to do. While it’s certainly just an optional thing to unlock, it appears that many fans feel frustrated at the required grind and are hoping that Playground Games revises the requirement in some way.
