LEGO Leak Reveals Working Donkey Kong Arcade Machine

LEGO Leak Reveals Working Donkey Kong Arcade Machine

A new leak may have just revealed the first details of the already-confirmed LEGO Donkey Kong Arcade Machine set. According to this leak, the LEGO Donkey Kong Arcade Machine set will retail for around $200, will contain 1,367 pieces, and will release on August 1, 2026.

LEGO and Nintendo have enjoyed a fairly lengthy partnership, one that shows no signs of stopping. In 2020, Nintendo and LEGO teamed up to create a wave of Super Mario playsets and figures geared towards younger audiences, as well as an 18+ LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System set targeted at older Nintendo fans. Since then, LEGO has continued to produce a wide range of Nintendo-themed sets, including two LEGO Legend of Zelda display sets, a collectible Game Boy set, an assortment of Animal Crossing playsets, and a new wave of LEGO Pokemon Smart Play sets.

First shared by a.clay.brick on Instagram (and then shared on the r/Legoleak subreddit), some details of the LEGO Donkey Kong Arcade Machine may have just been spotted on an unknown retailer’s website. According to this leak, the LEGO Donkey Kong Arcade Machine set could include 1,367 pieces, could retail for around $200, and might release on August 1. If that August 1 release date is true, then an official reveal for this set is likely imminent.

This leaked retailer description claims that the set’s 1,367 pieces will be used to recreate the iconic Nintendo mascot’s very first arcade cabinet, complete with brick-built versions of Donkey Kong, Jumpman, and ‘Lady’. Along with the arcade cabinet itself, this set will include a blocky depiction of Donkey Kong‘s on-screen action, with LEGO pieces allegedly being used to create steel girders, ladders, and some kind of “continuous barrel-dropping function.”

According to this recent LEGO leak, this Donkey Kong Arcade Machine will also come with a unique play feature that aims to replicate the gameplay loop of that original 1981 game. Fans will reportedly be able to pull a “barrel-shaped lever” to send a barrel rolling towards Jumpman. Fans will then be able to move Jumpman via a joystick, simulating the proto-Mario’s core ability in the Nintendo classic. The retailer’s description ends with the set’s dimensions, which measure at around 39cm high, 27cm wide, and 15cm deep.

LEGO’s already had a very busy year, particularly when it comes to its various Nintendo themes. LEGO released its 1,000-piece Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Final Battle set back in March, and followed that up swiftly in April with the Mario Kart Luigi & Mach 8 set. But that was only the beginning. A new Animal Crossing LEGO set is also preparing for an August 1 release, as is a vast range of LEGO Pokemon Smart Play sets. These upcoming LEGO Pokemon Smart Play sets have proven to be a little divisive due to their built-in Smart Brick technology and the higher price tag that’s now associated with those features.
