A new Nintendo Switch 2 variant with an updated screen may be in the works, based on a newly sighted component listing matching Nintendo’s handheld without matching any of its known parts. If such a Switch 2 revision is indeed in the works, precedent suggests it would launch globally.
A Sharp-Made Switch 2 Screen Spotted in the Wild
A new model of Switch 2 LCD panel, most likely by Sharp, has surfaced on a Chinese resale site (img 1). Compared with the launch model from Innolux (img 2), the exposed circuit, connector, and cables are significantly different (imgs 3-4), indicating an updated design—not merely a minor revision. 1/

A new Switch 2 LCD panel surfaced on a Chinese resale site in late June 2026, as originally spotted by Nintendo Patents Watch. The images attached to the listing show a circuit, connector, and cable layouts that differ from the Innolux display that the Switch 2 has been using since its June 2025 release. Another discrepancy is the screen module’s “LS079T1SX10P” designation, which does not match any known part. NPW interprets that label as a 7.9-inch LTPS panel with 1080p resolution, citing Sharp’s established product nomenclature.
