Ocarina of Time Remake Pre-Order Price Leaked

Ocarina of Time Remake Pre-Order Price Leaked

A potential price for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake on Nintendo Switch 2 has appeared online, and may actually reveal more about the scope of the game. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was revealed at the end of the latest general Nintendo Direct, with Nintendo positioning it as the Switch 2’s big holiday 2026 game.

A specific release date for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake has not been announced at the time of this writing, but we do know that the game is on track to release later this year. The Ocarina of Time reveal trailer was generally light on details, giving fans a brief glimpse of Link sleeping in his house at the beginning of the game and suggesting that the project will feature vastly upgraded graphics compared to the original, but that remains to be seen. To date, no gameplay has been shown so far, and Nintendo has kept other details secret as well, including the game’s price.

Nintendo scrubs some key details describing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, though fans quickly pointed out what the company removed.

While Nintendo has yet to officially announce the price for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, a retailer listing has potentially leaked it ahead of time. Retailer PlayAsia has listed the Ocarina of Time remake for $59.99, which could be a placeholder price or the real deal. We won’t know for sure until Nintendo itself decides to reveal the Ocarina of Time remake price, and it remains to be seen when that will be. If the game is releasing in November as speculated, though, more details on that front will come sooner rather than later.

If the Ocarina of Time remake costs $59.99 as PlayAsia’s listing has suggested, then it could mean that the remake isn’t a massive increase in scope compared to the OG. It would hint at the game largely being a graphical upgrade, ala the Star Fox Switch 2 remake, as opposed to something more revolutionary. Nintendo is not shy about releasing $80 games, and if the Ocarina of Time remake is more substantial, one has to imagine that it will hit that price or at least get closer to it.

Nintendo started releasing $80 games with the Switch 2, with Mario Kart World being the first. The upcoming Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will be $80, and with OoT being the big Switch 2 holiday game, it wouldn’t be out of the question for it to also cost $80 if it offers enough new compared to the N64 original. Ultimately, we won’t know for sure how ambitious Nintendo is going to be with the Ocarina of Time remake until it decides to divulge more info.

Chances are good that the Ocarina of Time remake will get a showcase at some point within the next few months, with September a likely option. It’s possible that the game will be featured as part of a larger Nintendo Direct, or it could get its own dedicated Direct, like we recently saw with Splatoon Raiders. While fans wait for more official information from Nintendo, they should keep an eye out for more potential leaks.
