Crimson Desert Just Got a Brand-New Update for July 2026

Pearl AByss continues updating Crimson Desert, with the latest July 2026 patch making big adjustments to equipment as well as expanding what secondary protagonists Oongka and Damiane can do in-game. After launching back in March 2026, Pearl Abyss hasn’t slowed down at all with how it updates Crimson Desert. The studio has continued to not only add new content for players, but also make substantial changes to parts of the game that aren’t resonating with fans.

It’s one of the most impressive elements of Crimson Desert as Pearl Abyss used the mixed reviews to continue building out the experience. Since it launched, Crimson Desert has seen a substantial amount of post-launch updates to continue adding content that fans wanted, while also smoothing out some of the rougher elements. Pearl Abyss specifically avoided adding a roadmap so it could listen to fans and make rapid-fire adjustments to Crimson Desert. So far, the process has worked as it has kept Crimson Desert relevant months after release.

Crimson Desert Studio Promises Continued Support As Long As There’s Demand

Pearl Abyss discusses the constant updates Crimson Desert receives, promising to continue the support to help keep the player base high.

The latest update, while not as big as some previous Crimson Desert updates, continues to make impactful changes. In addition to continued bug fixes and stability improvements, this update adds new crafting recipes for carpets, as well as special armor sets like Lightning Bolt Plate Armor, Scorchflame Plate Armor, and Frostcursed Plate Armor. There’s also a Hunter’s Sigil that can be equipped, allowing equipped pet birds to retrieve prey and items suited to their specialties.

However, for many, this patch makes substantial improvements to Crimson Desert‘s secondary protagonists, Oongka and Damiane. Both characters were criticized initially for being too restrictive as they couldn’t do the same things as Kliff, or even use the same abilities. In response to the frustrations, Pearl Abyss has continued to release new updates aimed at improving both characters, adding abilities and functionality to make them truly viable options.

The July 4 update continues this trend in building out both characters. Specifically, both Oongka and Damiane can now enter The Abyss, while new equipment options have been added for all 3 protagonists, including boss equipment. Pearl Abyss confirms that Oongka can now equip “most outfits” available to Kliff, including the Kuku armor set. Damiane can also equip equipment from Odeck, Dark Marksman, and Masked Liberator.

This latest patch fits in nicely with the Crimson Desert June-Sept 2026 Roadmap put out by Pearl Abyss. The studio confirmed it intends to continue working off player feedback, while improvements are also coming to the game’s overall narrative. Cross-Save and combat-specific content are also on the horizon, as well as further improvements to non-combat activities like farming and trading. However, players are likely anticipating a bigger content drop in the future, as Pearl Abyss has confirmed that it is working on bigger DLC content, though details and a potential release window are still unknown.
