First Look at Adorable New LEGO Pokemon Set Coming August 1

LEGO and Pokemon fans can feast their eyes on a brand-new set featuring Munchlax coming on August 1. The new set is also debuting alongside a handful of other LEGO Pokemon releases, including LEGO Arcanine and LEGO Rayquaza, and several LEGO Pokemon Smart Play sets. The MSRP for the LEGO Munchlax set is said to be $70, but an official price has not been confirmed.

2026 has been a huge year for LEGO Pokemon fans, with the line of sets debuting in February, with LEGO Pikachu, Eevee, and the Kanto Starter trio all being featured. LEGO Smart Play sets featuring popular critters like Garchomp, Gengar, and Mewtwo have also been officially confirmed for release on August first. Now, fans can get a look at several other new sets starring Munchlax, Arcanine, and Rayquaza releasing on the same date.

LEGO Pokemon Munchlax Set Finally Revealed

  • Price: $69.99
  • Release date: August 1

Shared on X via The Brick News, the first images of LEGO Munchlax reveal the Gen 4 Normal-type critter in LEGO form. This set features Munchlax posed on top of a tree stump with flowers and apples around the bottom of the scene. Munchlax can also be detached from the stump easily for display separately from the rest of the set. Munchlax is just one of the new LEGO Pokemon sets slated for an August 1 release, with new images of LEGO Arcanine and LEGO Rayquaza also surfacing ahead of their official release.

Munchlax was first introduced in Gen 4’s Pokemon Diamond and Pearl as a Baby Pokemon an pre-evolution of Gen 1’s Snorlax. Known as the Big Eater Pokemon, Munchlax is best known for its love of food, eating its own body weight in food daily. As such, it’s appropriate that this LEGO Munchlax set would include a few apple cores, likely left over from one of Munchlax’s snacks. With high enough friendship, Munchlax will evolve into Snorlax.

Aside from Munchlax, new images of LEGO Arcanine and LEGO Rayquaza have been shared. Unlike the other two new sets, LEGO Arcanine set is largely standalone, simply featuring the Fire-type Pokemon without any other diorama elements. LEGO Rayquaza, on the other hand, comes with a diorama of the Sky Pillar where it can be found in the Hoenn Region, and a minifigure of Zinnia from Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire‘s Delta Episode.

Compared to the LEGO Munchlax set, LEGO Arcanine will set collectors back a solid $100 for a total of 1190 pieces. Meanwhile, the LEGO Rayquaza set comes out at $130 and includes a total of 1083 pieces. Despite the hefty price tags, these sets are still cheaper than the LEGO Pikachu and Poke Ball set, which is priced at $200, and the LEGO Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise set, which is priced at $650. The LEGO Eevee set and several of the LEGO Pokemon Smart Play sets are still cheaper than these new releases, putting them squarely in the mid-range of LEGO’s line of Pokemon-themed sets.
