Brand-New Official Elden Ring Release Confirmed for July 2027

It’s been some time since the release of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree and Elden Ring: Nightreign, so fans are keen to know what’s next for the world and developer FromSoftware. FromSoft has confirmed it is working on a handful of new games beyond the Nintendo Switch 2 release of The Duskbloods, and one of them is rumored to be a brand-new soulslike game set in a pirate world. How The Duskbloods and this rumor pan out remains to be seen, but Elden Ring fans are still eating good at least.

Elden Ring‘s Tarnished Edition is bringing new content like starting classes, armor sets, weapons, Ashes of War, and so forth when it releases in August 2026, but after that, fans can already await Elden Ring: Rot and Sorcery, which is set to release in July 2027. Elden Ring: Rot and Sorcery is Coming in July 2027

Steamforged Games recently wrapped up its crowdfunding campaign for Elden Ring: Rot and Sorcery, an officially licensed expansion for Elden Ring: The Board Game. After 4, 247 backers and roughly $2.5 million raised in USD, fulfillment is currently planned for next July. Once it arrives, players will be able to explore Liurnia of the Lakes and Caelid through two new standalone core sets that can also be combined with previous Elden Ring: The Board Game content for an even larger campaign.

The original Elden Ring: The Board Game was one of Steamforged’s biggest crowdfunding successes, bringing FromSoftware’s award-winning RPG to tabletops with cooperative exploration, character progression, and challenging boss encounters. Rot & Sorcery builds directly on that foundation, expanding the adventure into some of Elden Ring‘s best regions while remaining compatible with the original release. The expansion includes:

Machinations of the Witch, a new core set in Liurnia of the Lakes.
Dominion of Rot, which takes players into the dangerous, Scarlet Rot-infested lands of Caelid.
Support for one to four players.
New enemies, quests, NPCs, equipment, and bosses inspired by the video game.
Compatibility with existing Elden Ring: The Board Game content, allowing players to build a much larger interconnected campaign.

With an expansion focused on Caelid, one of the most exciting Elden Ring bosses “inspired by the video game” is Starscourage Radahn, especially because of his story and encounter in the base game, plus how his story is expanded in Shadow of the Erdtree. For those fans, Steamforged offered multiple pledge tiers throughout the Gamefound campaign, including options for each standalone core set, bundles containing both expansions, upgrade packs for returning players, and campaign-exclusive rewards. As with most crowdfunding projects, fulfillment timelines and final content could change before production is complete.
