After a week, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has managed to reach another impressive sales milestone and to celebrate, Ubisoft revealed plans to add a highly requested feature. Although the game was one of the worst-kept secrets in the gaming industry, the enthusiasm from fans for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has been apparent from launch as it continues to soar past major sales milestones.
Launching in a month that has commonly been avoided by the gaming industry in years past seemingly hasn’t been an issue for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. In fact, just 24 hours after launch, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced sold over 2 million copies, placing it firmly as one of the stronger launches in the franchise. Alongside that, the game also managed to become the Assassin’s Creed franchise’s most-played entry on Steam, breaking a longstanding record of 99,451 players for the series. Now, Ubisoft has another milestone to announce while also confirming a highly requested feature.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Getting New Game Plus
The fortunes of Edward Kenway and crew continue to grow as Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has just sailed past 3 million copies sold. The post goes on to thank players for jumping into the experience and continuing to share the experiences and stories from the newly rebuilt title.

However, for many fans, the big news came a little further down in the reveal post. Ubisoft casually announced that to celebrate the huge sales milestone, New Game Plus is being developed for the game. While there’s no timeframe for its launch, Ubisoft simply indicated that it’ll be added later on through a future update. Even without the potential for big DLC for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, smaller updates and quality of life improvements like a NG+ are probably what fans can expect going forward.
While Ubisoft considers Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced as being content complete, it hasn’t stopped the company from continuing to engage with players post-launch. In terms of post-launch content like New Game Plus, Ubisoft has been holding special community treasure hunt events, though the one planned for July 17 was unintentionally derailed. As it turns out, one user accidentally stumbled into the highly sought-after Explorer Outfit for Edward Kenway, a reward that was intended to be the big prize for treasure hunters during Ubisoft’s next community event.

Outside of that, Ubisoft did receive some flack from players over what many considered to be an egregious amount of microtransactions. At launch, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced had around $85 worth of microtransactions available for purchase, which not only caught the ire of players, but also forced Ubisoft to clarify that these were completely optional extras and the standard edition of the game was the full experience. Regardless of the outrage, a new report from an analytics company indicated that the Steam version of the game was able to earn an extra $1 million in revenue just from the day-one DLC alone.
