Controversial Twitch and Kick content creator Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt has been banned from Twitch for the second time in 2026, with the ban taking effect on August 6 for unknown reasons. As of this writing, Asmongold remains one of the most followed channels on Twitch, with over 2.4 million followers on his second channel called ZackRawrr.
Asmongold began his content creation career in 2008 on YouTube as he primarily recorded and posted footage from World of Warcraft. Asmongold then formally started his Twitch channel in 2014, with WoW continuing to be a key focus for a time. Asmongold has since branched out to covering various gaming and political topics. While Asmongold’s takes have landed him in hot water on social media, the Texas-based creator has shown no signs of backing down from speaking his mind.
Asmongold Banned from Twitch for the Second Time This Year
Asmongold has once again found himself unable to stream on Twitch following a recent livestream. As of August 6, Asmongold’s ZackRawrr channel has been taken offline, as viewers are instead greeted with a message that stated the channel had violated Twitch’s community guidelines. It is currently unclear how long Asmongold’s ban from the ZackRawrr channel will last, though his main Asmongold Twitch account remains accessible. However, Asmongold has not streamed from his main Twitch account in three years. Asmongold was previously banned in April for a week on both his Twitch accounts after making controversial political statements about people from the Middle East.

Though his previous ban was cut short by a few days, Asmongold used the time he had away from content creation to get some dental work done. As of this writing, neither Twitch nor Asmongold have publicly commented on this latest ban. However, some posts on social media have shed light on a potential reason why the former OTK co-founder was banned from Twitch. According to an August 4 stream clip, Asmongold made inflammatory remarks concerning migrants and their children, as he claimed they should be shot upon trying to cross a country’s borders for any reason. Whether these comments are the main reason behind Asmongold’s ban from the Amazon-owned streaming platform remains to be seen.
However, the ban is not the only controversy that Asmongold is currently dealing with. Since late 2025, Asmongold has been listed as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by Mizkif, another former OTK member. Mizkif sued both Asmongold and Emiru for punitive damages and defamation, as Mizkif claimed that harassment allegations levied against him were false. Asmongold subsequently filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit against him in February 2026, citing a lack of valid claims from Mizkif regarding the case. While Mizkif has moved forward with the Emiru lawsuit, a judge recommended that Mizkif drop his lawsuit against Asmongold without prejudice. Time will tell how the legal saga between Asmongold, Emiru, and Mizkif will play out.
While Twitch has recently reinstated a content creator after an erroneous 30-day ban, it is unlikely that Asmongold will catch a similar break. As of this writing, it is unclear when Asmongold will break his silence about his current Twitch ban.
