Images have appeared online of a brand-new, unannounced Switch 2 console and Pro Controller themed after The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake was announced at the June Nintendo Direct with a brief cinematic that showed Link sleeping in his house and little else.
Zelda fans are waiting anxiously to learn more about the Ocarina of Time remake. At the time of this writing, we know next to nothing about the project. It’s possible it will be a 1:1 remake that simply upgrades the graphics of the Nintendo 64 classic to meet modern standards, but it’s also possible that it’s a more ambitious project that makes more significant changes to the source material. With the Ocarina of Time remake set to launch later this year, fans should find out more about the game sooner rather than later. In the meantime, it seems it won’t be the only Zelda release on deck for 2026.
Zelda-Themed Switch 2 Console and Pro Controller Leaked
There have been rumors about a Zelda-themed Switch 2 console and Pro Controller to coincide with the release of the Ocarina of Time remake, and now alleged images of the products have leaked online. Fans should take these images with a grain of salt until they are confirmed to be legitimate by an official announcement from Nintendo. Posted to Reddit by user Enryx25, the images show a Zelda Switch 2 console with special Joy-Cons that appear to be different shades of green, with the Triforce on the left one. The Switch 2 dock also has the Triforce symbol on it. The Switch 2 Pro Controller uses a similar green/black/and gold color scheme, with the Zelda franchise logo in the middle. Pricing information is unavailable at the time of this writing, and it doesn’t seem as though the Zelda-themed Switch 2 console comes with the game, if the packaging is anything to go by.

The packaging of the Zelda Switch 2 Pro Controller is interesting. It includes a badge denoting that the product is part of the Zelda 40th Anniversary celebration, something that Nintendo has hardly touched on up to this point. This could be further evidence of a Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Direct happening in the near future, where the company could unveil the Switch 2 Pro Controller, the Zelda Switch 2 console, and more.
Nintendo has a history of hosting Directs in September, and that, combined with the lack of information on the Ocarina of Time remake, has fueled speculation that a special Zelda Direct is happening soon. It would make sense for Nintendo to host a Zelda Direct if it is indeed planning to release this specially-themed hardware alongside OoT, but nothing to that effect has actually been announced at the time of this writing, so fans should keep their expectations in check.
Beyond seeing the Ocarina of Time remake in action and getting official reveals for this leaked hardware, a Zelda Direct could potentially give fans a glimpse at the franchise’s future beyond 2026, or maybe it will finally confirm long-rumored projects like the Switch ports of Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD. Whatever the case may be, fans should keep an eye out for more information.
