It’s been a long wait, but Embark Studios finally reveals more details about the next major content update for ARC Raiders called Frozen Trail, also confirming when players can access it. When it launched in October 2025, ARC Raiders became a massive success for Embark Studios, thanks to strong momentum that carried over from the game’s beta testing periods. The success proved on some level that extraction shooters could become more than just a niche genre.
While there’s no denying that things have slowed down since then, part of the reason for the success is how fast Embark responded to issues, while also keeping the game updated with new content on a monthly release cycle. However, things turned in May as Embark confirmed that ARC Raiders was moving away from monthly updates, leaving fans worried and a little disappointed. Instead, Embark would release smaller updates from its live team and work on 2 massive content updates per year, with the first coming sometime in October. As the date approaches, Embark is starting to reveal new details about the upcoming Frozen Trail update.
ARC Raiders Frozen Trail Update Launch Date
In a lengthy post on Twitter, ARC Raiders provided fans with tons of new details for its upcoming Frozen Trail content update, including the launch date set for October 8, 2026. Before getting into the details, Embark thanked fans for their patience with the new release schedule. While Embark continued to release smaller updates alongside important changes to ARC Raiders, a core team has been working behind the scenes to continue preparing the new content for players.

As Embark mentioned previously, Frozen Trail will add the biggest map that ARC Raiders has seen yet. In terms of story, players will be investigating an “unprecedented signal” pinging from beyond the mountain range, hinting that something big has occurred. Venturing to the edge of the Rust Belt map, players will find a winter-themed map that was once home to villages, facilities, and an observatory. Embark confirms that the new map will feature more verticality than any map previously, pushing players to navigate an environemnt that hasn’t yet been seen before.
Frozen Trail also features a new high-level challenge through an enormous ARC operation activity. Embark was light on details, promising a full reveal later, but stressed that this intense activity will require players to balance combat, teamwork, risk, and survival. For those who are able to meet the challenge, there will be plenty of rewards to obtain as well.

Outside of that, Frozen Trail will have new ARC threats to fight, ranging from smaller bots to one that Embark has called enormous and will “halt you in your tracks.” These bots have been going through months of iteration to find that spark of life and the post teases that they’ll be worth the wait.
While Embark teased even more additions to Frozen Trail, the final piece it was willing to talk about was a new progression system, offering a deeper and more rewarding journey for players. The Raider Den is being expanded into a new space called the Outpost. Embark teases that the Outpost will be more customizable as players take their first steps to reclaim the surface. The long awaited ARC Raiders Skill Tree revamp is also happening in Frozen Trail, with Embark promising more agency for players over their character.
In the months since the game’s final content update, Embark has made a significant number of enhancements and changes to the core game, including a weekly high-value and rare item vendor. Anti-cheat has also been a big focus, as well as adjustments to PvP matchmaking in ARC Raiders as well.
