World of Warcraft just brought back one of the most sought-after rewards in the game for a limited time, and it’s completely free. World of Warcraft recently released the Curse of Ula’tek update, including new endgame content, a whole location for players to explore, items, Raid sets, and more. The game’s latest patch even added a free pet for all players to get inspired by the real-world internet celebrity Jimothy the raccoon, who lives in the Seattle, Washington, area and has become a beloved mascot on social media.
World of Warcraft nerfed meta specs with Curse of Ula’tek, though, leaving some fans disheartened by the changes to their favorite classes. Others were buffed to compensate, and the meta has since developed in interesting ways. Fans also discovered a strange bug in patch 12.1, which seemingly allows players to keep fighting if they are disconnected while in battle, to the point that some believe it might be a feature Blizzard is testing for the future. World of Warcraft‘s Trading Post for September 2026 adds a plethora of rewards for players to collect, with a whopping total of 43 new items, 22 bonus items, 59 returning mounts, pets, or toys, 109 returning armor transmogs, and 140 returning weapon transmogs. Among them is the Ethereal Transmogrifier toy, which costs 300 Trader’s Tenders and is only very rarely sold, but it is one of the best items to have because it allows players to summon the Ethereal Transmogrifier and change their appearance on the spot. While there are mounts with the Transmogrifier option, this toy can also be used in locations where using a mount is not possible. Furthermore, the toy was listed for 500 Trader’s Tenders in past Trading Post selections, so it’s even more of a steal for 300.
Players can earn Trader’s Tenders for free in World of Warcraft, up to 500 per month via the Traveler’s Log and its achievements, with another 500 coming from subscription benefits. As such, the Ethereal Transmogrifier toy can be obtained completely free of charge, though it does require 300 Tenders out of the monthly 1,000. The Ethereal Transmogrifier can also be used by other players once used, much like its mount version. However, it’s worth noting that the toy cannot be used in the Exile’s Reach starting area, so players will have to wait to reach level 10 and move to their faction’s capital after the tutorial to finally use it.
This Transmogrifier toy can be particularly useful for players who are looking to buy the upcoming Hearthkeeper’s Wandering Caravan mount in World of Warcraft or already own the controversial and yet incredibly popular $90 Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur. The Hearthkeeper’s Wandering Caravan has been datamined for future release, and it might come with special housing features and one or two additional NPCs with extra functions. As such, having a dedicated toy for transmogs can make mount selection easier.
