Earlier today, Rockstar Games announced a new $400 collector’s box for Grand Theft Auto 6 that doesn’t include the game, but does include a long list of Vice City-themed stuff, including Oakley sunglasses, a shot glass, a vinyl statue, and more. Reactions to this $400 box of stuff have been all over the place, with a large portion of the GTA fanbase not feeling the cartoonish artwork and designs.
On Thursday, Rockstar opened up pre-orders for “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection” box. It will arrive on November 19, alongside the game, and includes a bunch of merchandise and goodies, much of which is themed around a fictional TV show that players will likely be able to watch in-game. This includes a pink alligator statue, enamel pins themed around characters from the fake cartoon, and a double-sided poster featuring a map of Vice City and characters from the show. It’s a strange idea, considering no fans have seen the fake show yet, and for many in the GTA community, the high price, cartoon characters, and lack of a game have made them quickly turn on this big $400 box of stuff.

“Bros come on, could’ve included the game at least for that price,” replied GTA modder Ash on Twitter to Rockstar’s reveal.
“Everything about GTA VI’s marketing campaign feels like it’s tailor-made for people who finance everything on Kalshi,” said a Bluesky user.
“$400 for an ugly statue and some cheap hats and a shot glass and no game included is insane. Will pass,” replied another user on Twitter.
“This looks like shit and $400 with no game ? ARE WE JOKING,” posted someone else on social media.
“Included useless garbage for $400, I’ll pass,” said one user.
“I generally don’t ever wish for games to crash and burn, but I really wish this one would,” posted someone on Bluesky in response to the bundle.
“This is the first time I have had the money to buy the Rockstar Collector’s Edition, which I had been waiting for, but it is disappointing and not worth it,” replied another fan to a GTA content creator showing off the collector’s box.
“See, I quite like the collection, but I do wish we got a Jason & Lucia statue of some kind,” posted someone else. “Maybe a different brand of glasses to bring down the cost and maybe include a T-shirt as well. I think it’s definitely the cost putting a damper on the set, but I think there will be more”
“We wanted Jason and Lucia — and we got an alligator instead,” complained one fan who also added a crying emoji to the tweet.
That seems to be one of the big complaints of this collection, beyond the price, of course. A lot of fans wanted a Jason and Lucia statue or goodies more directly related to GTA 6 and the franchise, not cartoon characters from a fake show. I’ll admit that I’m a big GTA sicko, and I have zero desire to spend $400 on the stuff included in this box. Fans are hoping Rockstar lowers the price or has more special merch to sell at a later date. While I bet Rockstar will have plenty more GTA 6-themed stuff to sell people in the coming weeks, I highly doubt the price of this collector box will go down in price anytime soon.
