It seems as though the Grand Theft Auto 6 leaker Cyberleek is threatening to release a start-to-finish playable build of the highly-anticipated game. Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the most highly-anticipated games of all time, if not the most highly-anticipated. Hype for the game has reached astronomical levels, and this is despite the ongoing controversy surrounding its leaks.
Prior to Rockstar Games and Netflix releasing the Extended Look at Grand Theft Auto 6, a leaker that goes by Cyberleek posted gameplay clips online. The Cyberleek gameplay clips were underwhelming compared to what was seen in the Extended Look, but they still gave fans their first proper look at GTA 6 gameplay. Cyberleek went mostly quiet after the Extended Look aired, but has since resurfaced. Most recently, Cyberleek shared 25 minutes of GTA 6 gameplay, and now they are allegedly threatening to release a playable build of the game.
We have been unable to verify the authenticity of the post, but it’s circulating that Cyberleek is allegedly promising to release a start-to-finish playable build of GTA 6 if their meme coin hits 30 million market cap. According to the post, the build lets players experience the entire GTA 6 story mode all the way up to the credits. The post states that Take-Two can stop the release of the GTA 6 playable build if the company issues a public apology and promises to release the game on discs.
The lack of a proper physical release of GTA 6 has been highly controversial ever since it was first announced. For the uninitiated, there will be no true physical release of GTA 6 — instead, the boxes of the game simply come with a code inside. Cyberleek has played into the outrage surrounding this decision since the initial leaks.
If a fully playable build of Grand Theft Auto 6 were to release online a full month before the game’s actual launch, it could potentially be devastating. The general public wouldn’t necessarily know how to get it and would probably still just get the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S versions, but many others would jump at the opportunity to play the game in advance and for free. It would also mean GTA 6 was playable on PC well before the actual PC version could ever release.
For Grand Theft Auto fans that have been looking forward to playing GTA 6 for years, the biggest danger may be spoilers. GTA 6 story spoilers would no doubt flood the internet moments after the playable build was leaked, and that very well could effectively ruin the experience for millions of people. It’s highly unlikely that Take-Two will give in to the demands, and so it will be interesting to see what happens in the days and weeks ahead as we get ever closer to the GTA 6 November 19 release date.
