Digital game libraries have made it easier than ever to revisit older PlayStation games without digging out a disc or tracking down a physical copy, but digital purchases seem riskier than ever as the industry moves toward a digital-only future. Digital storefronts give publishers complete control over which games remain available to buy, leaving players with fewer options when a title disappears. Now, PlayStation has surprisingly delisted 3 of its exclusive games, although it appears to have been a temporary removal.
PlayStation has spent years expanding its digital storefront, with older PS4 games (and even older) still finding audiences through sales and backward compatibility on PS5. Even so, a game’s availability on the PlayStation Store is never something players should take for granted. A sudden change to a listing can leave customers wondering whether a game has been permanently removed, temporarily pulled, or simply caught up in a storefront issue.
3 First-Party PlayStation Games Get Randomly Delisted
- Knack 2
- God of War 3 Remastered
- Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
3 PlayStation exclusives were recently removed from the PlayStation Store in the United States and select other regions. Knack 2, God of War 3 Remastered, and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection are the games that players noticed went missing. In roughly 24 hours, they were added back to the PlayStation Store, yet there’s still no explanation as to what happened. One possible explanation is a pricing error involving the Mexican PlayStation Store, where the games were reportedly listed at incorrect prices. That theory (as reported by TheGamer) has yet to be confirmed, however, and it doesn’t fully explain why the games are unavailable in some regions that seemingly weren’t affected by the pricing issue.

The situation may be a temporary storefront mix-up, but due to the lack of transparency, it highlights one of the biggest drawbacks of digital gaming. In June 2026, Sony announced that 551 previously purchased movies and TV shows would be removed from PlayStation users’ digital libraries starting September 1 because of licensing agreements. Those customers were warned they would lose access to content they had paid for, but not by long, showing that nothing really stops PlayStation from revoking purchased content. All games involve different licensing and distribution arrangements, yet the broader concern remains: publishers and storefront operators can change what is available, sometimes with little-to-no warning.
Sony is also moving toward an increasingly digital future for PlayStation. The company confirmed in July that physical disc production for new PlayStation games would end in January 2028, with new releases sold digitally through the PlayStation Store and at certain retailers. It is also believed that the PS6 will be a digital-only console. The 3 temporarily missing PlayStation exclusives may not be part of that transition, but their sudden disappearance offers another reminder of how much control digital platforms have over game availability.
For now, there’s no confirmed or good explanation for why Knack 2, God of War 3 Remastered, and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection vanished from the affected storefronts. Hopefully, Sony addresses their removal and quiet return sooner rather than later.
