Nintendo has announced that gamers who pre-order the digital version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time can get a new special bonus. The news comes following the reveal of a multitude of different types of pre-order bonuses for Ocarina of Time being offered all over the world, and from different retailers.
The release date for the Ocarina of Time remake is drawing ever closer, and gamers are running out of time to secure pre-order bonuses for the game. Although shade has been thrown at Ocarina of Time, it remains one of the biggest releases of the year, and will likely contribute to many gamers having a very busy November.
New Ocarina of Time Early Order Bonus Announced
Gamers who pre-order the digital version of Ocarina of Time remake or choose to buy a copy prior to November 23 at 11:59 pm PT can now get a new bonus. Nintendo revealed that a special Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary digital wallpaper will be made available to players. The wallpaper features the 40th anniversary logo for The Legend of Zelda, with a collage of images from a multitude of classic Zelda games behind it. The wallpaper will be available in different formats, including those appropriate for both computer desktops and phones. Buyers who qualify will be sent a message at the email address they used to sign up for their Nintendo Account sometime after the promotion window has closed, which can be clicked through to download it.
As noted, there are a lot of different bonuses that players can potentially get by pre-ordering Ocarina of Time. A textured foil cover will be available for as long as supplies last, but that’s just the beginning. Slipcovers based on the original version of the game, replicas of the Spiritual Stones, and a replica of the original Nintendo 64 version box are just some of the items on offer. All kinds of goodies have been offered, including keychains, coasters, wallets, pins, cards, coins, and more. The exact Ocarina of Time pre-order bonus received depends upon the player’s region and which store they choose to buy the game from.
Balance the critic averages
Unfortunately for those in the US, the only bonuses that have been announced are technically early order bonuses, namely the textured foil standard game cover on the first edition of the physical version, and the wallpaper for digital copies. No reason has been stated by Nintendo as to why there are no special bonuses for Ocarina of Time available to customers in the US, and fans of the Zelda franchise have voiced their complaints on social media. However, given the rapidly approaching release date of the game, it seems unlikely to change at this point.
So far, early previews of the Ocarina of Time remake have been largely positive, and new clips have revealed just how far the visuals of the game have come since the N64. Given that Ocarina of Time is one of the most beloved games of all time, Nintendo already knows that millions of gamers will be expecting a lot from this redux. It won’t be long now before gamers can decide for themselves if it lives up to and surpasses the original legend.
