Square Enix has officially confirmed the upcoming release of Final Fantasy 14: Agents of Enquiry, giving fans something brand-new to look forward to. Any new Final Fantasy 14 content is always appreciated, and this upcoming release offers something completely unique.
Final Fantasy 14 has one of the most unique histories of any game in the series. It initially launched in 2010, but was immediately panned by players and proved a commercial failure. The game was shut down within two years, by which time an entirely new version had entered development. This “Version 2.0” of Final Fantasy 14 was released in late 2013 to a much more positive reception, and has since become one of the longest-running MMOs on the market, with a huge active player base well over a decade after launch.
Final Fantasy 14: Agents of Enquiry Releases in April 2027
Square Enix has officially opened pre-orders for Final Fantasy 14: Agents of Enquiry, a new party game featuring characters from the popular MMORPG. The rules of the game are simple. Players describe a particular character, and others listen. The listeners must be the first to pick the correct character card from the pile. The player who has the most cards at the end wins, with a small hourglass to determine how long each round is played.

On the store page, Final Fantasy 14: Agents of Enquiry is listed as a March 2027 release, giving fans plenty of time to get their pre-orders in ahead of its shipping window. It’s priced at $47.99, so it’s not the cheapest new release, but it’s far from the most expensive piece of merch, either.
Over the years, Square Enix has released tons of Final Fantasy 14 merch, giving fans ways to bring the MMO home with them in unique and interesting ways. For example, there are a few Final Fantasy 14 music boxes to pre-order right now, which play songs directly from the game. This kind of merchandise won’t be for everyone, but there’s no denying that it’s a cool concept.
Early next year, Final Fantasy 14 is launching the Evercold expansion, which marks the beginning of the Godless Realms Saga. The upcoming expansion will bring a bunch of new content to the MMO, including a max level increase to 110. FF14 recently arrived on Nintendo Switch 2, too, so there’s no sign of slowing down any time soon.
