It’s just been confirmed that development has officially ceased on Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, the free-to-play mobile hero shooter spinoff. Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble had begun to roll out gradually to those who pre-registered after the game’s reveal, but as of November 6, development on the spinoff has ended and the servers are set to be shut down soon.
Officially announced in November 2025, Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is a free-to-play hero shooter that was being developed by Oh BiBi in collaboration with Insomniac Games and PlayStation. Following its announcement towards the end of 2025, Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble began testing in certain regions, and on July 15, 2026, PlayStation opened up pre-registration for the masses on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. No official global release date was ever given for Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, but over the last few months, those who pre-registered were gradually being invited to play the game based on region.
Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble Is Being Shut Down
Just less than a year after the game’s initial reveal, developer Oh BiBi has just announced that it’s ceasing development on Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble effective immediately. The mobile hero shooter will receive a final update on November 6 and will be ultimately removed from app stores on November 21. Those who download the game before that November 21 delisting will be able to play Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble up until May 1, 2027, when the game’s servers will be shut down permanently.

All playable characters, game modes, and other pieces of content currently in Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble will remain in the game right up until its May 1, 2027 closure. This includes the Quark Pass, which players can continue to work on and redeem rewards from until the game’s servers are shut down. Additionally, the game’s current Super Pass is now free, and the ability to make in-app purchases has been removed entirely. Any in-game currency players already redeemed can be spent until May 2027. Anyone looking for a refund on in-game currency is directed by Oh BiBi to the Google Play and Apple App Store support channels.
Nowhere in Oh BiBi’s official announcement does the developer cite a reason behind Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble‘s imminent shutdown. Instead, the developer simply thanks its “amazing community for all [its] support,” giving extra credit to those who spent time playing the game and sharing feedback with the developers.
The last mainline Ratchet & Clank entry hit PlayStation 5 back in June 2021, and since then, there’s been no official word from PlayStation or Insomniac Games regarding a potential full-fledged follow-up. During the infamous ransomware attack on Insomniac Games in November 2023, details of a new Ratchet & Clank game were leaked, though a subsequent leak from September 2024 suggested that Insomniac may have canceled this rumored project.
