Pokemon TCG Pocket is Giving Away 120 Hourglasses for Free

Pokemon TCG Pocket is Giving Away 120 Hourglasses for Free

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket players are being gifted a special package for the holiday season from the dev team, though there’s a limited time to collect the rewards. Pokemon cards continue to be massively popular and in many cases, sell out incredibly fast and can be hard to come by. While it may not quite be the same, many have opted to play and collect digitally through the Pokemon TCG Pocket mobile game.

New promo cards and expansions arrive quite often, giving players new cards to strive for and add to their collection. In December 2025, Pokemon TCG Pocket added the Crimson Blaze expansion, which also added a handful of mega evolution cards, including the likes of Kanto starters Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. Thanks to a special Holiday Event, players can not only get their hands on some booster packs, but earn a ton of Hourglass to help them continue opening cards each day.

There are five Crimson Blaze secret missions for Pokemon TCG Pocket players to complete, as well as eleven regular themed collections.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Delivers a Holiday Gift to Players

The official Pokemon TCG Pocket social media channels have been teasing players with a special gift through the already Christmas-themed generation 2 ice type known as Delibird. The account sent out a teaser showing a bunch of Delibird preparing gifts for players, and provided numerous updates leading up to December 25. Requesting that players send their thanks to cheer them on, it seems the group was not only able to prepare the gifts, but successfully deliver them to players by the December 25 deadline. Here’s what players can expect to find when logging in.

The Pokemon TCG Pocket dev team is gifting players a pack of 120 Hourglass, which should now be available until January 7. Players will need to log in and claim the gift, otherwise, it’ll disappear if left unchecked by the January 7, 2026, end date. Hourglass in Pokemon TCG Pocket is an important resource used to reduce the time it takes to open new packs. Players have a limit to how many daily packs can be opened, with a cooldown timer preventing any additional ones from being opened. Players can use hourglass to reduce the cooldown, allowing more packs to be opened much sooner than normal.

However, there’s another opportunity for those hunting even more Hourglass items in game. Over the final week of December, players can complete limited-time event missions, including 7 days of login rewards. While up to 36 Pack Hourglasses are part of the rewards being offered, players can also get their hands on Crimson Blaze and Mega Rising booster packs as well. Here is the full breakdown of events from December 25–31.

While all of that can be earned completely for free, DeNA and Creatures have a little bit extra for those who don’t mind spending a bit of money in the in-game shop. From December 25, 2025, to January 7, 2026, the shop will have a Holiday sale on Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s Poke Gold premium currency, while also providing a small bonus for purchases. For example, buying 30 Poke Gold will gift an extra 30 for a total of 60. The more Poke Gold that is purchased, the bigger the free gift will be as well, with 80 being given for purchasing 100, while players will get 145 for buying 200.

Even with the holiday event only lasting a short time, there’s plenty more to look forward to in January 2026. Pokemon TCG Pocket revealed a content release schedule for both December 2025 and January 2026, with the next big drop starting on January 1 with Mareep. Then, on January 4, players will find Bonus Week missions to take on, followed by a Heliolisk and Buneary Wonder Pick event, then a Mega Latios ex Drop in the latter half of the month. Finally, on January 29, players can look forward to a new Themed Booster Pack release, which is expected to add 100 new cards to the popular mobile title.
