Minecraft Fan Shares Impressive Biome Concept Inspired By New Game Drop

A Minecraft fan has shared a stunning concept for a new in-game biome, inspired by the newly revealed sulfur cave biome showcased in the March Minecraft Live presentation. The livestream, which focused on updates and new releases for the massively popular sandbox game, brought plenty of exciting news for fans of the franchise. Mojang officially unveiled multiple new baby mobs being added to Minecraft, a theme park centered around the game, and even a brand-new spin-off with Minecraft Dungeons 2. However, one of the biggest parts for many fans came with the new additions to the main game.

Minecraft officially unveiled both a new biome and multiple blocks coming to the game in the near future. The Chaos Cubed game drop will introduce the sulfur caves biome to the game as a murky environment that can have negative effects on the player, alongside new sulfur and cinnabar blocks. The biome will also come with the addition of a new mob to Minecraft with the sulfur cube, which absorbs nearby blocks and has different properties based on which block it consumes. Now, one fan has given their own take on a variant of Minecraft‘s sulfur caves.

Minecraft Leak Reveals Look at Features That Never Made It Into the Game

Data miners are responsible for big news, as the PlayStation 3 version of Minecraft’s source code leaks and reveals scrapped features.

Minecraft Fan Shares Stunning Sulfur Biome Concept

Reddit user LightDe showed off their unique concept for an above-ground version of the sulfur caves. The concept images show a steaming above-ground pond surrounded by sulfur and magma blocks, creating an extremely hostile environment for players to explore. The landscape is dotted with stalagmite spires covered in sulfur blocks, dripstone blocks, and sponge blocks, alongside many dead, leafless trees. The official presentation from Minecraft only showed off underground sulfur cave biomes, with no mention of whether new biomes would be added where the blocks can be found on the surface.

The unique idea for another sulfur-themed biome was accompanied by plenty of ideas about how Mojang could make use of the new environment. One fan proposed that sulfur caves could spawn directly beneath the poster’s new biome, similar to the connection between lush trees and lush cave biomes. Another player suggested that the biome could be a rare sub-biome of Minecraft‘s pre-existing mesa biome, which could make finding the sulfur-filled area feel more special when discovered in-game. Many other users also shared the sentiment that the poster’s creation was a better use of the new sulfur blocks than the official sulfur caves, with some even mistaking it for official content.

Minecraft‘s newest biome was far from the only big update for the main game teased in the Minecraft Live presentation. Mojang showed off a variety of new baby mobs coming to Minecraft in the Tiny Takeover update, including baby chickens, sheep, wolves, and several others. The developer is also adding a new Parties system to the game, allowing players to more easily link up with one another and play across multiple offline worlds and Realms. Mojang concluded the livestream with a major teaser about the return of popular Minecraft spin-off series Minecraft Dungeons.

The conclusion of the March Minecraft Live broadcast brought the official announcement of the upcoming Minecraft Dungeons 2. The dungeon-crawler spin-off looks to be a sequel to the original game, taking place after the conclusion of the first game’s story. Minecraft Dungeons 2 also gave a brief hint about some of the new things players will be able to find in the sequel, teasing the Deep Dark and the Ancient City Portal as two major plot elements within the spin-off. Minecraft Live always gives fans lots to look forward to from the future of the sandbox series, with new spin-offs, game drops, and more on the way.
