It’s Official: PS Plus Premium Subscribers Will Have 9 New Games to Play on January 20

Sony has officially announced the new PlayStation Plus games coming to the Extra and Premium tiers for January 2026. When it comes to PlayStation Plus announcements, Sony keeps things predictable. The new free PS Plus games that make up the Essential tier are almost always announced on the Wednesday that precedes the first Tuesday of the month, and the new Extra and Premium games are announced in the middle of the month.

After they’re announced, the new PS Plus Extra and Premium games are made available the following Tuesday. When it comes to the January 2026 PS Plus Extra and Premium games, Sony was beaten to the punch. The PS Plus Extra and Premium games for January 2026 leaked online ahead of their official reveal, and now we know that the leak was accurate. It will be interesting to see if PS Plus Extra and Premium games continue to leak moving forward, but in the meantime, subscribers can circle their calendars for January 20 for the next batch of games.

PS Plus Is Losing One of Its Most Emotionally-Charged Games and 3 Other Titles in January 2026

PlayStation Plus subscribers have to say goodbye to one of the service’s most emotionally-charged games and three other titles in January.

On January 20, PS Plus subscribers can look forward to eight new games for the Extra tier and one new game for the Premium tier. Since PS Plus Premium subscribers get access to all three tiers of the service, they will have a total of nine new games to play come January 20. On that day, A Little to the Left, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, Art of Rally, Darkest Dungeon, Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Resident Evil Village, Ridge Racer, and The Exit 8 will be added to the lineup. Out of those, the Premium exclusive is Ridge Racer, which was originally a PS1 game.

New PS Plus Extra and Premium Games for January 2026

  • A Little to the Left
  • A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead
  • Art of Rally
  • Darkest Dungeon
  • Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game
  • Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
  • Resident Evil Village
  • Ridge Racer (Premium only)
  • The Exit 8

When Ridge Racer makes its debut on PS Plus Premium, it will come with the bells and whistles that fans have come to expect. This means up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters. Unfortunately, no mention has been made of Ridge Racer having trophies. The classic games added to the Premium tier have sometimes supported trophies, sometimes not, and sometimes added them months after the fact. We won’t know for sure what category Ridge Racer fits in until it makes its debut on January 20.

PlayStation Plus subscribers can also claim the January 2026 free games, which consist of Need for Speed Unbound, Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, and Core Keeper.

In the meantime, there are some obvious headliners when it comes to the new PS Plus Extra and Premium games for January 2026. The two that jump out the most are Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Resident Evil Village. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is an expansive turn-based RPG with an engaging storyline that will easily keep franchise fans busy for hours. Resident Evil Village, meanwhile, is the most recent main series installment in Capcom’s long-running survival-horror franchise, retaining the first-person horror of Resident Evil 7 while ramping up the action. It’s being added to Extra and Premium a little over a month before its follow-up, Resident Evil Requiem, hits store shelves.
