This Pokémon Trading Card Collection Packs More Than 50 Cards for Under on Amazon

If you’ve been enjoying the Pokémon TCG Pocket mobile game—the rush of opening up a new pack of cards—just imagine what it feels like to do it for real? Set your phone down and get back into the card game where it all started. Amazon happens to have a 50+ pack on sale for a couple bucks off. The global retail giant normally sells this collectors set for $10 even, but for a limited time, you can scoop up the pack for just $8.

Each pack in this Pokémon collections contains more than 50 Pokémon cards. Of those 50 or more, a minimum of five of the cards will be holographic and you’ll also get at least one GX, EX, Full Art, Tag Team, V, VMax or Secret Rare.

Now if you’re into Pokémon TCG just as a speculative investment, turn away. These aren’t booster packs that you’d pick up at your local game stop or big box retailer. These cards have been opened and repackaged. So if there was ever anything worth some real cash the seller came across, no way is it knowingly being wrapped back up and sold for $8 with 49 more cards. That said, packs like this collection are a great way to get started wit ha collection or can make for a great gift for kids getting into Pokémon for the first time.

Pokémania Is Back

As an elder millennial who was the prime target audience when America got hit with the first wave of Pokémania. It really is one of those, “you had to be there,” moments in culture. From the anime to the GameBoy games to the trading cards, Pokémon was just collectively every kids’ favorite thing.

I have a lot of nostalgia for these cards. Never played the card game, and didn’t know anyone who did. Everyone in my school was just in it for the collecting. I’m sure my mom still has a binder full of those useless grass energy cards that every single pack seemed to have at least one of growing up.

It’s cool to see that as Pokémon has grown from a massive global brand to, well, an even more massive global brand, the Pokémon Company has never updated the backs of the card from their iconic designs. It still feels very 90s just looking at them. If you can’t tell by now, I haven’t really thought about Pokémon trading cards in year. Though I might scoop myself up a pack of these for old time’s sake.
