Why Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Puppy Love Update is Breaking Hearts

Why Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Puppy Love Update is Breaking Hearts

Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s long-awaited Puppy Love update was supposed to bring romance, iconic characters, and adorable, predictable chaos to the Valley. Instead, for many players, it delivered something far less festive: locked quests and a ticking clock that mocks players who are stuck behind bugs.

Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s Valentine’s Day update should have been a slam dunk, but instead, players are heading to social media to voice their concerns about inaccessible content. And in a game built around time-gated rewards, this is a serious problem. Here’s a breakdown of what’s breaking hearts across the Valley.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Reveals New Characters and More Coming in Big February 2026 Update

Developer Gameloft showcases the latest update for Disney Dreamlight Valley, bringing fans back to a classic Disney feature.

Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Valentine’s Day Event Isn’t Triggering for Many Players

From February 11 to February 25, players are meant to participate in everything that the Disney Dreamlight Valley Puppy Love update has to offer. Alongside the update comes the Valley Valentines Event, which is supposed to be triggered by talking to leveled-up characters or pairs such as:

The structure is simple: log in, get the themed task, and earn exclusive rewards tied to the season. But the event isn’t even triggering at all.

What Disney Dreamlight Valley Players are Reporting

It seems that the DDV bug is not an isolated progression problem. Many players are reporting that they have all characters unlocked and properly leveled, yet the event refuses to load. Additionally, some players are reporting that the quest is locked or that they receive dialogue or prompts indicating they need to continue playing to unlock it. On its own, this seems like an annoying glitch. But in the grand scheme of things, this seriously hinders what players can get out of the event because:

  • The event is time-sensitive
  • Some quests are daily
  • Rewards are exclusive to this Valentine’s-themed event.

Some players have also reported contacting Gameloft customer service. According to their reports, the event is supposed to start after the daily reset following the February 11 update—which, in many cases, is 5 a.m. local time on February 12.

This Star Path is Bigger Than Usual, And That’s Adding Pressure On Affected Disney Dreamlight Valley Players

A new Star Path launched alongside the Puppy Love update. Recent Star Paths include about 70 to 90 duties per patch. However, the Paw-fect Star Path reportedly includes 115 duties. For any Disney Dreamlight Valley aficionado, this seems like the perfect Star Path: one that gives an excess of reasons to log in every day. However, for those locked out of even accessing the event, this represents serious FOMO at best and frustration over something out of their control at worst. The calendar is already tight. A broken event makes it tighter.

For context, a Star Path in Disney Dreamlight Valley is essentially the game’s seasonal battle pass. Players complete duties to earn event currency and unlock themed cosmetics across free and premium tracks.

Puppy Love Is a Highly Anticipated Holiday Update for Disney Dreamlight Valley Players

This situation stings long-time and new players alike because Puppy Love was genuinely packed with sought-after content. The free February 11 Dreamlight Valley update introduces a brand-new Lady and the Tramp Realm, where players:

  • Recreate the iconic spaghetti dinner behind Tony’s Restaurant
  • Help Lady and Tramp deal with dogcatchers
  • Navigate a mysterious spaghetti storm
  • Welcome Lady and Tramp as new characters in the Valley

Once unlocked after dealing with spaghetti storms, Lady and Tramp bring their Edwardian-inspired home, unique friendship quests, and themed rewards. Additionally, the update also includes a new flower puppy companion, new dream styles for Mickey and Minnie, and rolling mini events throughout to keep players busy throughout the late winter.

This amount of content is why the Valentine’s quest issue feels bigger than a minor bug. This event is the emotional centerpiece of the update—so when it doesn’t trigger, the entire holiday rhythm of the Valley starts off on the wrong foot. For now, players are waiting for a fix, and they’re also hoping that the season of Puppy Love doesn’t simply turn into a season of missed rewards.
