The Last Two GameSpot GOTY Winners Are Both On Sale On Steam Right Now

If you’ve been waiting for last year’s GameSpot Game of the Year winner, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, to go on sale, then you’re in luck. Steam is not only offering a discount on Expedition 33–it’s also bundling the title with the 2024 GameSpot Game of the Year winner, Metaphor: ReFantazio.

As part of Sega’s Year of the Horse sale on Steam, the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 x Metaphor: ReFantazio bundle is available for $72. Separately, Metaphor: ReFantazio is on sale for $35, which is 50% off its $70 price. Clair Obscur only has a 10% discount, bringing its price down from $50 to $45. However, the bundle takes an additional $8 off the sale price of the two games together.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 amassed several top awards in 2025, including The Game Awards’ Game of the Year. GameSpot’s review scored it a 9/10 and praised its emotionally engaging story and the compelling cast of characters who live in that world. It’s an RPG that “blends aspects of traditional JRPGs with reactive, parry-heavy action.” Reviewer Richard Wakeling closed out his review by saying, “This is a supremely confident game that reinterprets familiar mechanics with an imaginative eye. Its combat is a consistent delight, delivering thrills with thoughtful strategy and reactive action in equal measure, complementing a heartfelt story of shared grief and camaraderie.”

Metaphor: ReFantazio fared even better in its GameSpot review. This is one of the rare titles to earn a 10/10 from GameSpot. Like Expedition 33, this is an RPG that embraces fantasy, but it goes off in its own direction. “Metaphor: ReFantazio is a brilliant game packed with adventure, charming characters, heartfelt stories, and elevated versions of Atlus’ signature gameplay, art, turn-based combat, and sprawling dungeons,” writes reviewer Jessica Cogswell. “Metaphor is Atlus at its strongest and most sincere. It’s the type of game that reminds you of the idealist you were, the person you’d like to be, and how fantasy can shape reality.”
