Arc Raiders Test Case Quest Guide

Arc Raiders is overflowing with challenging enemies to take down, and some quests will send you out to take materials from them. This is what the Test Case quest from Apollo is all about, tasking you with obtaining a Hornet Driver, Fireball Burner, and Firefly Burner.

Though completing the tasks in Test Case is a straightforward affair, you’ll need to be prepared with appropriate shields and ammo, as some of these enemies can be a little irritating at times–especially if they catch you out in the open. Additionally, we’d recommend bringing an augment with a safe pocket or three so you can store the requested materials there, meaning you won’t lose them in the event of your death.

When you’re ready to find the materials for the Test Case quest, follow the steps below.

Where to get a Hornet Driver

To get a Hornet Driver, you just need to kill a Hornet. These are flying enemies that are often found near patrolling Wasps, and they’ll light you up with electrical shocks. They’re plentiful on any map, making this an easy one to track down.

To kill a Hornet, you can shoot its front thrusters until they’re exposed, then place a few more shots on them to spin the ARC out of control. If you have the right angle, though, it’s usually best to shoot their already-exposed back thrusters for an easier takedown.

When you’ve killed a Hornet, loot a Hornet Driver from it.

Where to get a Fireball Burner

To get a Fireball Burner, you’ll need to destroy a Fireball. These roly-poly jerks love to come out of nowhere and blast you with fire, so you’ve probably encountered quite a few while exploring topside already. They’re commonly found inside buildings on any map and can be accompanied by Pops, so approach with caution.

To kill a Fireball, just wait for it to open its core and fire a shot or two directly at the center. Alternatively, a single well-placed heavy round from something like an Anvil or Ferro should be able to kill it from afar, even while it’s armored.

When a Fireball is dead, loot the Fireball Burner.

Where to get a Firefly Burner

Fireflies are a post-launch enemy type in Arc Raiders that can be thought of as an airborne version of a Fireball and are found on all maps, though we’ve had the best luck spotting them on Dam Battlegrounds and Blue Gate. This nasty ARC will shower you in fire if you let it, so you’ll want to take it down fast.

To kill a Firefly, just use heavy or medium ammo to chip away at its thrusters like other flying drone-type ARC. You can also shoot a Firefly’s core when it’s exposed and spraying fire, though it’ll be a risky endeavor if you don’t have cover.

When the Firefly is dead, loot a Firefly Burner from it.

Once you’ve obtained all of the items requested by Apollo, return to Speranza and turn in the quest. Afterward, don’t forget to check out our comprehensive guides hub for more help with this popular extraction shooter.
