A remake of the original God of War trilogy is in the works, but it’s still early days. In any event, Sony Santa Monica announced a trilogy remake, with original Kratos voice actor T.C. Carson making the announcement.
This is a remake of the original Greek trilogy of God of War games. Carson said it will “be a minute” before Sony comes back to share another update, so fans shouldn’t expect to play it soon. “Next time we come back, we’re coming with something big, baby,” Carson said.
In a blog post, Sony said the trilogy remake is “very early in development.” And as such, the studio said, “We ask for your patience as it will be a while before anything else can be shared.”
There is basically no info to go on now, and the reveal trailer didn’t show any footage whatsoever. In any event, the God of War series debuted in 2005 on PS2, meaning it’s now more than 20 years old. The sequel came out in 2007 and God of War III was released in 2010.
Additionally, Sony announced a new God of War game that you can play right now–God of War: Sons of Sparta. The sidescrolling game was shadowdropped today, February 12.
