The Generation 10 starter Pokemon have been officially revealed for the newly-announced Pokemon Winds and Waves. While there were plenty of Pokemon Winds and Waves leaks ahead of the games being revealed on Pokemon Day, none of the leaks showed off the starters. Now we know exactly what the starters will look like in the upcoming games, and so fans can start planning on who they will pick to start their Gen 10 Pokemon adventure.
As expected, the latest Pokemon Presents gave fans updates on a wide variety of currently-available and ongoing Pokemon games like Pokemon GO, Pokemon Sleep, and Pokemon Unite, but the most exciting reveal came at the end of the presentation when the Generation 10 Pokemon games were announced. Pokemon Winds and Waves were unveiled in an impressive trailer that confirmed a variety of returning Pokemon as well as revealed three brand-new ones in the form of the starters that players will get to choose from at the start of the games.

Pokemon Generation 10 Starters
- Browt (Grass-Type)
- Pombon (Fire-Type)
- Gecqua (Water-Type)
The three new starter Pokemon in Pokemon Winds and Waves are Grass-type bird Browt, Fire-type pomeranian Pombon, and Water-type Gecqua. The Pokemon Winds and Waves trailer did not reveal what these Pokemon evolve into, so franchise fans will have to take a wait and see approach on that front. Regardless, Pokemon fans looking forward to Winds and Waves can start planning on which starter they will choose to take on their journey now that Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua have officially been revealed as the first new Generation 10 Pokemon.
The Pokemon Winds and Waves trailer showed off a lot more than just the starters. Based on the trailer, Pokemon Winds and Waves will be the most graphically-impressive main series Pokemon games yet, which makes sense as they are coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. As seen in the trailer, Pokemon Winds and Waves will feature a variety of detailed biomes, all heavily populated by Pokemon.

Ultimately, the games look like an evolution of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s open world take on Pokemon. Since Pokemon Winds and Waves are launching for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027, hopefully the games will not have the serious performance problems that plagued Scarlet and Violet. With there still being at least a year to go until Pokemon Winds and Waves are available, Pokemon fans will have to stay tuned for more information on the games’ performance, changes from previous entries, and what other new Generation 10 Pokemon are on the way.
