Pokemon Pokopia Announces New Event With Exclusive Rewards for April 2026

Pokemon Pokopia has announced its third-ever special event, Bulbasaur’s Jump Rope Contest, which will give players a chance to snag some fun rewards. The special one-week event in Pokemon Pokopia is scheduled to run from April 19-26, but just like with the first major event, there is an easy way to access it early.

The success of Pokemon Pokopia has been overwhelming. The Pokemon franchise’s first-ever life sim sold more than 2 million copies in its first four days on the market, and critical reactions have been great as well, placing it as the highest-rated Pokemon game ever made, just ahead of Pokemon Y. Not resting on its laurels, the development teams at Game Freak and Omega Force have been continuing to add fun activities through special limited-time events, with many more planned for the future.

Pokemon’s 2026 Release Whiplash is 2022 All Over Again

Pokemon Pokopia and Pokemon Champions have seen two very different receptions in 2026, making this year feel similar to the series’s status in 2022.

Pokemon Pokopia Bulbasaur’s Jump Rope Contest Dates and Times

  • April 19, 2026, at 5:00 a.m. though April 26, 2026, at 4:59 a.m. (Local time)

The upcoming Pokemon Pokopia event starring the Kanto Grass-type starter will allow players to meet up with Bulbasaur outside the Pokemon Center and participate in a jump rope mini-game, racking up prizes for consecutively completing successful jumps. This mini-game can be tackled alone or in multiplayer, but some special rules will apply. When playing together on a player’s primary island, only the host player will receive items, but the player completing the most jumps in one session will hold bragging rights for that world’s high score. That doesn’t hold true for Cloud Islands, where anyone in a multiplayer jump rope match will be able to both claim the high score, and only the winner of each contest will get the rewards.

Shortly after the release of Pokemon Pokopia on March 5, the More Spores for Hoppip event was launched, letting players collect cotton spores and trade them in at the Pokemon Center for picnic-themed prizes, some of which attracted Hoppip and its evolutions to the island. The first in-game event in Pokemon Pokopia lasted for 15 days, and the quickened pace and smaller scale of the Bulbasaur’s Jump Rope Contest event means players will have less than half of that time to participate. Also, like the first event, there is a prerequisite to get it started, as players will need to have completed the Yawn Up a Storm request for Slowpoke, which is found in the Withered Wasteland.

Some players were already able to discover the Bulbasaur’s Jump Rope Contest event’s existence by using time travel methods in Pokemon Pokopia, setting the Switch 2’s onboard clock to future dates to see what the game had in store for them. Although the development team hasn’t provided a full list of rewards that players can rack up, those who have managed to jump into the jump rope event early have reported that new rewards are available after completing the first jump and every 10 jumps thereafter. Prizes that have been reported include Leppa Berries, Honey, Star Pieces, Large Lost Relics, Rainbow Feathers, Silver Feathers, Pokemetal, and Rare Pokemetal. Additionally, players who are able to complete 51 consecutive jumps will reportedly be rewarded with a special Jump Rope Trophy.

Those rewards may not seem as appealing as the ones in past events, but there is another major Pokemon Pokopia event planned for the end of April. Between April 29 and May 13, players will be able to encounter Sableye and collect exclusive rewards that will allow them to build a suitable habitat for the Darkness Pokemon. Just like with other events, players with a lack of patience don’t have to wait for this event to officially start and can use the previously mentioned time travel methods to experience it immediately.
